Just don't understand it. I start SPi loop 1 at 56.672s which is better than before. As loops continue to complete the times seem to get worse taking longer to complete loops. Any ideas?

EDIT: I guess it's time for a fresh install of windows, I got no other ideas. Too bad 'cause other than that things were going pretty smoothly. I suppose I could try another set of RAM...
New RAM didn't do it either. Oh well! Fresh install next I guess.

Yeah OS prob. After you set up the fresh install, set system restore point and you can just restore instead of formatting

Maybe I'll try that first anyway. Thanks for reminding me Donko!

Are you guys 100% sure that prime is the end-all be-all last word on system stability?

Picked up another 3800+ X2 ..LDBHE-0607 , core-0 primes at 2830Mhz on stock volts, core-1 primes at 2510Mhz stocks volts.........big spread......

With Affinity set to Core-1 {the one that wont prime past 2510} and 2800Mhz stock volts. I can run 3DM06 or 3DM01 or play Q4 or BF2, or UT04 for hours with out issue.
Now how is that NOT stable
I even let 3DM-01 loop all night last night on core-1, was still runing this morning I stoped it.

And then there's this one that drives me nuts.
@2800Mhz stock volts.....If I let core-1 prime by it's self it makes it about 2hours, but the instant I start core-0 to priming core-1 immediately fails

I use prime for stability and believe its results. However there are also many that insist prime does not work properly. I dont know why I can run prime (p95 & sp2004) indefinately using "stable" settings but some say it fails at stock though.

I just ran this last night to test some Mushkin UCCC I got, primes fine.

1 core being weaker for a dual core is common. The problem you may run into is when you are doing something that uses both cores you may get some instability.

The way I look at stability is if I want 24/7 stability and cant prime for 24 hours then there WILL be a problem at some point even though it seems to be working ok atm.

I would like to subscribe to that theory myself, but I've seen otherwise, well unless 11months wasn't enough time for the crash or event to occur. Take my old 2.8c it failed prime a 3.2G {frozen} yet I ran it 11months at 3.9G games editing you name it, and never once had an instability issue
Same goes for my 3700+ it fails prime shortly after 3Ghz, yet it's gamed for getting close to a year now at 3.2Ghz with out any problems.

Then my 3500+ CAA2C lives up to the prime theory, it fails prime around 2.9G @1.6v
and also games crash with in 5 to 10 mins at same speed and vcore only windows is stable. Have to go to 1.675v to get 2900Mhz perfectly stable.

Yea this is my third DC chip and your spot on about one core is always weaker than the other when it comes to prime, but I've only seen 30 to 50 Mhz differences up until this chip. Their is a IMO huge gap between 2510 and 2830Mhz

OK can I say it's stable now or do I have to go for 24 hours

Pretty sure 2800 is doable on water, might even squeze it to 2900. Might make a good freeze chip

It makes me mad I had to add volts to satisfy core1 just for prime
Core-0 primes stock volts @2800Mhz....whats the last single core chip you had that could run 2800Mhz stock vcore water cooled???? Me never.

Dont try one, if you ever use it for any thing besides benching, you'll throw rocks at single core chips

I'd keep my single core chips for benching if that's what you mean, use dual core for normal things lol.

I was sold on dual core first time I did a batch convert of 3 avi files into one DVD, and played Q4 on the side and it still only took 27mins
