Unhappy MSI Master2 FAR - can't update BIOS

This has been a crazy goose chase so far.

MSI's website is kind of a mess. I believe my friend has a MSI K8T Master2 FAR, socket 940 dual proccessor motherboard. We need to load the newest beta BIOS to get support for his brand new 252 series Opterons (he has 242s in now).

Well, Liveupdate won't find/load that BIOS, so I have to do it DOS style. I'm using AWDFLASH, and when I get to the 'Program new BIOS?', it gets about 1/3rd of the way done then stops and says something about 'BIOS write protected, make sure lockout jumper is set correct'. After looking through the BIOS, and the manual, and on the board, I can't find any physical jumper like that, and there's nothing in the BIOS about a BIOS protection setting.

Anyone have any experience with this? What am I missing?
