| NForce 4 chipset Drivers and Vista I want to do a quick build with some leftover parts I have lying around.... A Foxconn NF4 6150 chipset 430 Board And an Opti 148 I want to use and play with my new version of Vista that arrives Friday from the egg... Display Drivers from nvidia list a Vista certified version But the NForce4 430 chipset drivers are not Vista And neither is the nVidia audio or Raid that this board uses... Do I just load the "latest" and hope for the best????

| Im sure it will have enough drivers to get you going until nvidia puts out their own drivers. I've ran vista on a lot of different machines and hardware and i havent had any driver problems at all. vista X64 is a different story. |

| Thanks, if Vista has all the chipset drivers and lan, onboard audio drivers that would make for a nice and easy install...not having to look all over the place to find your exact chipset drivers for what os your using would be nice. ![]()

| I have never had any trouble with chipset drivers for my NF4. I think they are included right on the disk as I never saw an update for them. The trouble for me of course is the damn SLi drivers. It actually looks like Vista is going on the shelves without them. This is scary to me. If they don't have them by now I'm starting to wonder if they ever will. Maybe SLi is just incompatible with Vista for some reason. I can't begin to fathom why though. Nvidia is not talking. No where does it say on their site if they will be available or not ever or if so when.

Nvidia must be scrambling...... So you just loaded the Nvidia chipset drivers off your normal install disk----and Vista was fine with it??? I'm especially thinking about RAID and loading drivers at F6 in the install sequence-----no way will I be hooked into Windows Update by then----and if you don't install at F6 you can't get a RAID boot up partition At least that's the way it used to work in XP....

| I have not installed a RAID partition with Vista yet. I didn't load any third party drivers for a single drive partition on the latest builds. For RAID yes I'm pretty sure you would have to load the drivers at F6. The one major difference from XP is you no longer need a floppy drive. You can load the drivers from anything like cd, flash media, USB dongle etc. For the older betas I had to load the chipset drivers for Vista to even recognize a single drive but not since RC1 or so.
