| GA P35 DS3 Cannot boot from SATA DVDRW drive (hangs at dmi) I'm having a peculiar problem... Whenever I try to boot from CD, it gets to the DMI pool thing and then just hangs. If I eject the CD and restart, it boots back into Vista just fine, and the DVDRW works fine from inside the OS. The only thing I can think of is that it may have something to do with the configuration of SATA in the bios, but I'm not sure what settings I'd change. Currently have 5 SATA devices hooked up-- 2 36GB raptors in RAID0 and 2 1TB WDs in RAID1. And the DVDRW. Any ideas? |

| Re: GA P35 DS3 Cannot boot from SATA DVDRW drive (hangs at dmi) I'm not running raid on my DS3R and I didn't bother with AHCI this install, opting for IDE emulation instead..My machine boots just fine off my sata DVD... I know, apples and oranges, but here's a screenie of the integrated peripherals anyways..

| Re: GA P35 DS3 Cannot boot from SATA DVDRW drive (hangs at dmi) I'm not sure what ports your raid is on, but if you have the sata mode for ports 0-3 set to enabled and the onboard sata/ide device enabled and the dvd is on one of them it should work.. I believe ports 0-3 are the 4 yellow ones.
