| According to Tom's Hardware: --------------------------- There is - of course - a downside to the new Pentium III processor as well. It may have the same socket (Socket370) as the good old Coppermine, but it requires a different I/O-voltage and thus a different chipset. Right now, you need a new version of Intel's 815 chipset (i815 EP B-stepping) to run the new PIII. Current PIII-boards won't be able to host the new breed. --------------------------- So is that it? 1.5V instead of 1.65V??? I'm sure that the processor will be able to handle 1.65V without frying. Good cooling measures would be required of course. Even so, anybody out there willing to tinker with their motherboards and derive a voltage hack? Is there some way to take down the voltage to 1.5V easilly? Tom has already gotten 1419.88Mhz out of the sample he received. I want this bad boy. NAS |

| i dont think the I/O is just as simple as the raise of Vcore from 1.5 to 1.65. anyway, i hope there will be a work around solution to run a tualatin on CUSL2. maybe something like a I/O regulator socket?? |
