HELP needed: I flashed new BIOS succesfully, but system doesn't boot up anymore!

I flashed succesfully the CUSL2 BIOS (from 1001.a to 1009) of my kids using AFLAHS 1.36 (DOS). The process went flawlessly, but it does not boot up anymore! It runs on W98SE German.

I did it some minutes before (using AFLASH) on another CUSL2 system as well (from 1008.3 beta to 1009), but this one boots up without any problem. This one runs W2K.

The system of my kids uses Bootmagic (two kids who have their own applications/system setup).

My kids will SCREAM when I explain! Urgently help needed.

Hi Dutch

Haven't heard that one for a long time.
You need to pull the battery for a few minutes to reset the bios.
I don't remember if you have to put the monitor to onboard video.

Do the battery first and see if you can get to bios, if not do it again with the onboard video plugged in.

I guess CUSL2 Experts need to study the readme files, also LOL

Hi Ozzie,
I haven't been a long time on this forum. I have been so bloody busy, travelling, managing implementation of MS Exchange Server for the Group in Europe), setup of new hardware (HP servers), transition from NT to W2K, foreign visitors, etc. etc.

I just have come back from 2-weeks holidays (south of Barcelona, Spain), SUPER weather, some sailig in a dinghy and finaly could come to reading LITERATURE (Umberto Eco's (Foucault's pendulum in Dutch), Gabrial Garcia Marguez (News of a kidnaping in German) and some other funny short stories by several dutch authors. And of course great food (seafood), wines, a lot of beer to keep my head cool and a fine hotel on the seashore. You can imagine I enjoyed it but I also really needed it. I was close to a burn-out.

Thanks for the hint on taking out the battery. I did not think of this solution.

StarTraveller, I read so much during my holidays that I did not come to reading readme files anymore.

You're more than welcome Dutch.

We all seem to be really busy these days- makes vacations even more important.
It sounds like you had a GREAT vacation. I haven't done much sailing, but I love the water. I'll have to try that if I can find the time...

Oziie, I just wanted to let you know that the system of my kids works fine again after taking out the battery as you suggested.

The smiles of my kids, when they heard about it, are your's as a "thank you"!

Whew!! Glad it worked for you Dutch - that's always scary...
not many here remember those 'old' days of the original bios and all the RMA's it caused.
