In regards to the mushkin memory, i went to their site and found the level two uses BH-5 chips which i have read in other threads and in this one to be very good. Would they be more stable or have greater life then the level one? Certainly still a noob here but want to make a good purchase that will last.
I'd definitely go with the Level II Mushkin because of the BH-5s.

I've never had any luck with CH-5s in any of the 4 875PBZs that I've tried it in. I've used 2 different sets of Level I Mushkin, a set of HyperX 3200A and a set of Corsair 3200LL, all with CH-5s and all had problems running at even close to SPD. I'd have to run it at 2.5-3-3-7 or worse on most of the boards in order to run Memtest86 with no errors. Anything faster would give errors, the faster the timings, the more errors I'd get. I think a lot of it is Vdimm related. The 875PBZ only gives 2.5V and I just don't think that's quite enough for this kind of RAM, but of course you can't add any voltage on these boards so you're stuck with whatever you've got.

I haven't got a reply from that PCN guy either. I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed....

In the meantime I've got a shiny new Antec P160 case waiting for this board. I have to review the case so I may end up slapping it together with something else inside of it.

This is my first time on this Forum and my third time on any forum. I screwed it up by making a multiple posts. Sorry, won’t happen again. I solved my install problem and thanked everyone in that thread. Now I have a memory problem which is also in that thread.

I hear that. I have 2 hard drives coming out the 12th Dec holding me at bay.

It's the day before Thanksgiving so my gut feeling is I won't hear from this guy again until next week.

Next Monday is the day I'm suppose to give Peter at DLJ Systems a call also.

Do you mean you're still getting cold boot problems, or is it the PAT thing? Or is it something else?

I thought I would share this.

BTW Happy Holidays to All.

LOS ANGELES, California (Reuters) -- Los Angeles officials have asked that manufacturers, suppliers and contractors stop using the terms "master" and "slave" on computer equipment, saying such terms are unacceptable and offensive.

1 cold boot fail so far but not sure if mobo was the cause. PAT still disabled. most benches approximately 5 to 10 percent lower than expected. Burn in mode crashes even though cpu and ram have been oc a lot more on other boards.

The only booting problem I've had in a long time now, is that the computer stops right after the BIOS screen (right before loading WinXP). The screen shows a blinking cursor, but nothing happens. Has anybody experienced the same?

Yep I've had that. Also where you see 70C, 70B at the bottom right, also no posting at all and very rarely BSOD. I think it is all the fault of low DDR voltage. There have been no less than six product change notifications to this board since I bought it with some PCN's incorporating several changes. The last PCN even went as far as a new board fabrication. I want the new board.

Yeah, me too (want the new revision).

Does the LAN activity LED also flash/blink on your board?

On mine, whenever there's a link it keeps flashing - no mather if there's trafic or not. I've even tried to connect it to a switch, and it still kept flashing, even though it was the only device connected to the switch! However the acitivity LED on the switch didn't flash...

Very annoying... it also keeps flashing when the computer is shut down!

Yes, it'll be posted at SPCR.

I'm barely starting to put it together so other than subjective impressions (front bezel style = ick, aluminum = light but not as strong as steel, removable mobo tray = nice but not as well done as the types that slide out the back) I don't have too many yet. I'm trying to keep an open mind and just let the experience flow over me. (hmm, sounds a little "zen", but hey, I live in Kali, what do you expect!)

BTW, OT but Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
