I talked to Peter after Jim posted the good news and he is getting the boards express-shipped from the distributor but he said he would have them by next week. He explained that the distributor already has the boards and they shipped the wrong ones . He said his Intel rep. is personally taking ahold of the matter.

This isn't per chance the same rep that's in charge of BIOS R&D is it?

You guys wanna hear something funny? when I called Peter this afternoon he goes "I have some good news and some bad news", I said OK whats the good news, did you get the boards in? He said "Yes, I got the new boards in this morning". I then asked whats the bad news? He said "There the 206 boards."

It's more like a joke when the two rely on each other. I thought he was going to say he only got 3 boards in or something.

b4 flashing, reboot and go into bios and press f9. it loads the default setting. then f10 to save and exit. after that try flashing the bios. you shouldnt see the checksum errors.
Thanks, l...

Manual, OEM woes

I had to order OEM because I wanted to make sure I got the 206 and that's all newegg had the 206's available in...

So I went to intel's site figuring I'd find a pdf manual, but no, nothing. Is there a manual somewhere someone has?

If not, maybe scanning one would be a good resource for this thread and all the OEM owners.

Hmm, guess I found some useful PDF's after all.

Technical Documentation

The Quick Reference guide looks like what I needed from a manual, if it's not the manual itself.

However, it still leaves me wondering about the Power LED. My new Antec 1080AMG case has a Power LED cable with 3 pins slots, but only two wires, nothing exists in the middle pin. So, what does this generally mean? The Antec manual does not say.

I just got a phone call from Pete at DLJ, the boards according to Intel will arrive at DLJ tomorrow.

The board is in fact a 301.

The 302/305 was a mis-print

Ok, I found the Intel docs for this, it's not labelled or on my sticker reference. J9J1 is for the 3 pin power connectors, just left of the front panel block.

AKA the Message Waiting Indicator LED in the downloadable manual.

It "should" work like a charm with the Antec case.

How can something as small as a bios file be so difficult for supposed experts to write.

Its black I believe. You cant miss it because its a three pin connector thats missing the middle pin.
