Highest Capacity Hard Drive

Hi guys, I was wondering what the highest capacity drive I can use with a Rev. 205 board? I was thinking about picking a 500 GB Western Digital from newegg. Assuming it will work, is there any reason to go with IDE over SATA for this motherboard?

Thanks!

I'm sure it could use that. Might want to check your local Comp USA. I picked up a 500GB Maxtor SATA drive over there yesterday for $109.

No reason to use IDE over SATA than I can think of.

I've been using a couple of 500GB Samsung drives on one of my Rev. 205 875PBZ's and they wok just peachy.

I can't think of any. I use both on my 875PBZs and the interface is transparent.

Question

For the D875PBZ, would that version (8.3.0.1013) be preferable to
the latest? (8.3.1.1009)

Re: Intel D875PBZLK

Wow this thread is still going
I was here back in 2004 and learned a lot from people here, thanks.

In 2006 my D875PBZ v 205 failed on a hot day while I was at work, and no longer boots.

I built a gigabyte ga-965p-dq6 with a c2d 2.4e, 2 gb ddr2, 7900gto that is working pretty well.

Recently I installed a hd that was sitting on the shelf and re-found the link here, so I stopped in to say hi.

Since I dont think there is enough time in the universe to read this whole thread, can anyone do a quick summary and explain why this thread is still here ? thanks

Re: Intel D875PBZLK

Came by to ask for a SATA controller known to work. A little search answered that and a couple questions I hadn't thought to ask. This thread is way beyond any manual for a mobo. A bit like Borges' Library at Babel....

Seasons' Greetings to you all!

Re: Intel D875PBZLK

Merry Christmas Everyone and to Intel who produced the D875PBZLKR- the mother of all Intel enthusiast boards. This board kicked off my love custom building my own system and sharing it with friends online. Today's my birthday (46th) and I am enjoying reminiscing in my favorite thread. Here's an old pic of many I have buried inside this thread.

Merry
