I am also an Intel distributor, and sell quite a few of these to my customers. Guess what? NO ISSUES. Shocking.

Welcome the ABXZone

Once you get the $79 2x2GB DDR3 1333 1.5V RAM you will have hardly any problems. I have not encountered any and I use my comp for gaming, C programming, Office, IE, burning DVD/CDROM's, digital pictures, talking on MSN messenger, and more. It all works great. IE webpages open within 1sec and the onboard audio is superb. Even the somewhat annoying page lockup in IE seems to have disappeared (probably due to an MS update.)

I am really very satisfied with this system. No.1 it works, No.2 it is fast, No.3 it is cool. Here's some pics of my last two editions.

I am really considering getting the E8700 when it comes out to replace my Q9650 to enjoy the extra speed.

Some fine additions. Any idea how much the E8700 will cost? I believe it will be clocked at 3.5GHz, right? What fabrication level are they using with that chip? 32nm?

Will cost the same like i7 920. Which make automatic this purchase not a good idea.

Exclamation New build won't post

I just finished installing the components’ of a new build and it won’t post. I push the power button and the fans start up, run for a few seconds, shuts down for a few seconds, fans start again for a few seconds, shut down for a few seconds, and just keeps repeating this pattern. There is no display on the monitor at any time.

Intel DP45SG

Intel Q9550

PSU – Corsair 650TX

CPU cooler Zalman CNPS 9700

Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)

(Still have CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) I’m about to send back on an RMA)

SAPPHIRE 100245L Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express

WD Rapter 150 (also have a couple 320 WD drives but haven’t plugged them in yet).

Plextor PX-850SA

I’ve removed a RAM stick, tried to boot with one, switched and tried with the other one, still nothing.

Any suggestions on trouble shooting steps I should try?

Thanks.

I might have a hint on the issue you are facing, same thing happened to me back when I first put my new build 2gether. I had forgotten to plug in the CPU power, check if you haven't as well

Bingo! I was going to check that and debated whether to plug every power connector in or not on my first power up attempt and after I installed the CPU cooler, the power connector was hidden and I spaced.

My board didn't come with a user guide, just the fold out quick start unless I misplaced it. I down loaded and saved one but doesn't the retail box come with one? That simple tip likely saved me a couple hours. Thank you!

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

All I'm needing left for my build is Vista 64 bit,DVD burner and a nice sized hard drive, all which I might get today via online order (I could install my Windows XP 32 bit and re-activate it on my new build since it's no longer installed and hasn't been used in awhile but I'd rather have full use of my memory...)

How about dual booting xp 32 bit and vista 64 bit? best of both worlds.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

That would work :P already ordered Vista 64 bit now all I need is a hard drive :P Almost done!

Edit: If only I could use one of my IDE drives and stick in my son's spare dual core 2.13(he got himself a Q6600 a couple weeks back) I would be installing right now lol
