Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

Do have a look at benchmarks before you buy it.

I setup RAID 0 with two 250 GB WD Caviar drives for a friend and they easily outpace my 300 GB Velociraptor:

Intel DP45SG

Intel Q9550

PSU – Corsair 650TX

CPU cooler Zalman CNPS 9700

Kingston ValueRAM 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600)

(Still have CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) I’m about to send back on an RMA)

SAPPHIRE 100245L Radeon HD 4850 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express

WD Rapter 150 (also have a couple 320 WD drives but haven’t plugged them in yet).

Plextor PX-850SA

I’ve removed a RAM stick, tried to boot with one, switched and tried with the other one, still nothing.

Any suggestions on trouble shooting steps I should try?

Thanks.

There is no ram problem, there is no power supply problem, i had a similar problem and same restarts (look for my post on page 100 i think), and i tried posting with muskin 1.5V ram (with e8400): 4 !! different power supplies (Fortron, Cooler master, Soly tech and 1 noname, all 600+ W), i tried to switch the video card from one slot to another, (gtx 280, when the system doesnt boot the fan from it doesnt start either, and my video its ok, tried on another system) even tried to run with molex to pci-x adapters. I had the same problems with the exception that sometimes like 2/10 tries the mobo booted, even ran 3d mark vantage, 2 times (in each pci-x slot, because i wanted to see the difference between electrically 8x and 16x, vantage did like 4750 vs 4760 or so on extreme settings, cant remember the exact values).

I've had enough and sent for RMA, and im waiting their answer now. But i'm tempted to get an asus maximus extreme and get rid of my problems and sell the sealed board that they will surely give me.

Piece of crap motherboard? you may say so, well if we are unlucky we can have problems with any piece of hardware, but i wont buy any motherboard from intel from now on for sure.

It seems to be a fluke. I checked just 2 days ago and it was still 108. The release date for 109 is stated as 21st Jan. LOL. What a load of crap. That must be true internally, but they just released it publicly.

The release notes seem to be malformatted as well. It says Known errata: under 109 and then nothing

I think it's some mistake Hopefully they should be pushing out an IDCC compatible BIOS by the end of this month. Don't cross your fingers though.

Pretty impressed with the performance of my 1TB LaCie drive:

I think I'll use this to install programs on my laptop. My laptops hard drive, in contrast, is shockingly slow:

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)
