Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

" PsyChoses " First of all follow each an every step of microsoft support methods posted by " hawkeyelom "

1)remove newly installed hardware
2)remove any drivers newly installed
3)set Bios to optimised defaults(no overclocking)
4)Run "memtest86" to check RAM
5)run "Chkdsk /f /r" command to detect and repair disk errors.
6)you said you are running 24/7 your pc,then see temparatures should be normal.

Overall if problem doesnt have occured before like just use system restore before trying above steps.

Sorry if I am wrong!

Well I think he understood. When I first submitted the problem report about the AAM bug I got a reply stating that "the product is end of life and no longer supported". Turned out that she was talking about the Intel Application Accelerator software (which could manage AAM). Apparently the guys just looked up AAM in their database and rerouted the issue to the support group for the first product that showed up

After I again pointed out that this is a BIOS issue with the DP45SG yadayada etc. I got a response from another guy (Andre) who asked more specific questions like if it happens with different brand hard drives too and whether I tested with another board (which I did) and my full system specs. I submitted this info on Feb 24 but silence ever since...

Exactly. You need to mail them again (if possible as reply to the last mail).

You also can write them that a similar issue can be found on the Intel D975XBX2 motherboard. There it's not AAM which gets re-enabled but SMART. I've checked that with Hitachi's Feature Tool. Maybe Intel has these bugs in all their BIOSes!? Who knows. At least for the D975XBX2 I'm still waiting for a fix.

In my case the support guy didn't understood the issue. But I'm tired now after all the different bugreports I wrote to them.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

It's going to be Tuesday before I get my DVD burner so I'll go ahead and get the computer put together and have only the DVD burner to install(and install Vista). Spent today early off work to buy a new stove in retaliation for buying new computer parts for myself lol

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

I say the DP45SG is by far the most sensitive Board ever !!!! I lost my Vista Ultimate x64 Key, so I tried many Activator cracks available on the net, only 1 worked fined for the past few weeks and now it stopped after installing Windows Live Messenger, for some odd reason... The skyburg just refuses every activator crack I use Y ? Will try contacting Microsoft to get my key back :P

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

I think you will find that with a lot of motherboards you will find problems using cracked software. Always keep your LEGIT keys in safe place and copy them in case you do lose your originials. Been doing this for every piece of software I own that requires a key for installation. If had lost your key you should have called microsoft for a replacement key/cd the moment you knew you couldn't find it. Using key generators is playing with fire.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

I know mate but tis gonna take microsoft ages to send a replacement Key/DVD ... I hate not to be able to use my rig in the meantime. Also would like to mention that I can no longer install vista on RAID drives coz each time I try, after copying files and restarting I get bootmgr missing... I'm starting to loose my mind here

P.S : Do I need to disconnect other HDDs to be able to format correctly ?
