Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

Don't know.. always had nvidia so Im used to it I guess and no complaints
I once had ATI.. back in the AGP days.. with 32.. or was it 64 MB memory
Hm well I say MS and Intel are both on same path.. too fast pace
I had a peek at the X58.. well as for the CPUs only the 920 is affordable atm

You can with the 0108 BIOS and above.

See here:

There are BIOS screenshots with how-tos and OC benchmarks on that thread.

I've read a few reviews where games that are CPU limited fly with the i7. Crysis would be a case in point.

Even if it's not your C:\ drive and you probably use it as your data store drive, the buffer to disk speed shouldn't be that low. Make sure it's running in Generation 2 mode from Intel Matrix Storage.

Btw, why do you write "Two ATI Radeon RV670 GPU, 512MB DDR3" in your signature. Why don't you specifically mention the cards you use?

Because they made so many versions of the HD 3850 and HD 3870 the name does not tell you anything.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

I ran Intel's LinPack test again after the 4GB RAM upgrade.

With 4GB:

With 8GB RAM, I get considerably higher temps (8 to 9 degrees) and the test takes much longer. These are just 5 iterations. 10 would take approximately 6126s. Contrast that with only 1630s with 4GB RAM.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

General info post: If you're a RAID user, do NOT use the Windows built-in defrag utility. It will defragment the file system but destroy the RAID stripes.

Use a good program like Diskeeper Enterprise Edition for efficient RAID defragmentation.

See here for a more comprehensive write-up: Processor Editorial Article - Defragmenting RAIDs

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

If you got the Asus Maximum Extreme,I thought that board wasn't out yet? I heard this was a totally new board that's about to be put out.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

Pychoses, once you get that Maximus Extreme just exchange it for the Rampage(you might have to pay some) if you don't want it.

Yes the board is a year and a half old and uses the 38 chipset rather than the 4000 series in the Skyburg and Intel X48 boards.... Man, the Skyburg is a better mother board---keep to the Rampage or Skyburg.

Again, don't you have the replacement Skyburg yet? I am confused???

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

Guys I like the Maximus, coz it has a total of 8 SATA ports, supports 1800 FSB, better cooling, better OC options .. I could o on ... Plus as the Rampage it has an LCD poster ... Anywho I find it way better than the skyburg coz it also has Dual x16 PCIe 2.0 that remain @ x16 in Crossfire ! Unlike the Skybur that becomes x8 in Crossfire
