before you install it read this:

Performance drops are seen with most graphics cards. Especially the 4850. Not sure how crossfire is scaling yet though.

Thanks for the heads up, I won't be installing this driver--also skipped 9.4 and 9,3 no problems with anything so far

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

That's a great bench. And you don't need to worry about the minimum speed. For all intents and purposes the minimum speed is around 100MB/s becuase you'll never fill up the whole drive.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

Just installed Vista with SP2. Anybody remember how to stop the IDT audio control panel from opening each time Vista loads? I have the ACP popping up each boot-up.

Thanks,
Sandog

I had the same problem (also after the last IDT update). I just tested the sound and reset preferences and then rebooted--Had to do that two or three times before it stoped appearing.

Also check msconfig startup--two different IDT items need to be checked---If i remember correctly they were.

Good luck.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

Yep two different IDT's. Saw that a week ago. I think that is why it didn't work. I went to where it says 'show desktop icon' which disables it from starting up but I guess I had to do it twice.

Thanks Hawk,

Sandog

PS. I am hoping to eventually get a back plate for my GTX 285 but I don't think it will fit if I do because the RAM modules latches are almost touching the card already.

I think you meant system tray icon, not destop icon: n'est-ce pas?

What plate are you referring to? The one on the graphics card heat sink (heat shroud) or the backplate that fits into the computer casing to secure the card? And what purpose does it serve?

Yes I did mean system tray. I think I saw two IDT's in Vista Defender. I was using it to disable programs earlier. I've been tweaking Vista for performance like disabling disk indexing and ReadyBoost.

I'm sorry, I mean the one you can buy for the back of your NVidia GTX 285 card.
EVGA | Products | Product List
It serves no purpose other than making the card look cool and protect the back of it. I can possibly fit a knife blade between my video card and the RAM socket latches. I wish Intel would address this problem along with putting SATA plugs near the video card to.
