Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

I had the same LAN problem when I first installed the board and again after I flashed the BIOS. Here's what you need to do.

You can go to Run\ipconfig to see if you IP address starts with 169. This is the problem (wrong IP address.)

"I am not sure who had the networking issue but I had the same issue he was having again when I updated my BIOS. What happens is you do not get an internet connection in Vista (cannot connect to DNS or something server). The mobo is assigning the wrong address. See if you have an address beginning with 169.??? If so then here's what you do.
1. Turn off computer and unplug AC from computer.
2. Disconnect power, ethernet cable, modem cable from modem.
3. Plug in modem power for 15sec minimum and unplug.
4. Plug in modem cable.
5. Plug in modem power and wait for all LED's.
6. Plug in modem ethernet.
7. Plug in AC to computer and reboot.

This works for me. I get my correct IP address back and I'm good to go."

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

@Panzerino
It depends on what you exactly mean by "working" according to Speedfan. It detects the correct Temps of both cores (like CoreTemp does) and some MB-Temps and it detects the fanspeeds even under Vista x64.

As far as i tried it was not possible to manage the Fan-Speeds manually/by Temp thru Speedfan which is senseless for me because the BIOS already does a great job.

But question was if it reads the Core Temps and it does, just tried it extra for you again under XP now with Version 4.35. Would like to post a Screen for you but Iīm still not allowed too because i have not enough posts (whatever "enough" means) which is the reason why i havenīt posted the full links to CoreTemp and Speedfan in my former post. Iīm willing but not allowed to do it "right".

Hey devSpeed, how do you like the CrossFire setup? I love my single TOXIC HD 4850 but seeing the benchmarks with Crysis Warhead I doubt I could run at the Enthusiast level with my single card. My question is does CrossFire allow you to increase settings because you have more FPS.

Also I checked the DP45SG documents, this board does have 2 electrical 16X PCIe v2.0 slots and either slot will run at 16X but when using both slots together (CrossFire config.) they are only capable of 8X each. This is not a big problem though as I've read video cards to not fully utilize 16X.

I am not running crossfire. I run three monitors that is why the two cards.

This is a business machine not a gaming box. I assumed there would be no gain from crossfire.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

Hey Sandog,

I tried out running 1333 9-10-10-25 1.55V and it seems to be fine. Do you think it is better to run at that looser latency with less voltage than 1333 9-9-9-24 1.9V?

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

I would rather run at 1.55V, that is very low and the RAM will run cooler and last longer. My computer feels just as responsive at 9-10-10-25. Later when a few more BIOS updates come out memory might run a little better. At least with this board there seems to be a wide margin of settings you can utilize. If you want numbers I would run Sandra Memory Test and look at the difference the lattency settings make. Also use other benchmarks such as FutureMark or PCMark to check performance at different latencies. I already tried once with 3DMark Vantage at 1066 7-7-7-21-1.9V and 1333 9-9-9-24 1.9V and I had the same score, no difference. I have not ran Sandra Memory Benchmark yet.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

Has any one replaced the battery on this board to see if that would correct the reboot issues. Maybe Intel sent them out with dead batteries.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

Any brands of RAM you guys recommend? Corsair just told me my ram will not perform the way i want it to.

The following part may top out at a speed short of 1600MHz on a P45-based motherboard:

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

I just put a system together. When I get to the first start-up screen where I need to go into the BIOS Settings, nothing happens when I click F2 (or any other key). I know the keyboard works and the number pad lights up when I plug into the new machine. Any thoughts?

Welcome to ABXZone Roland5275,

Make sure you continue to hit the F2 key when you see the Hit F2 screen. Sometimes the post does not catch the F2 key, I always tap it when the Intel flash logo appears. If you can not get into BIOS with the keyboard then pull the BIOS jumper off pins 1&2 and put it on 2&3. This will get you into BIOS and there you can reset to default settings under the boot menu. If all else fails, remove the CMOS battery for at least 30min and then put the battery back in and then try re-booting.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

@Waterp7

I use these Kingston ValueRAM -> KVR1333D3N9K2/4G 4GB 1333MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM (Kit of 2)

On page 14 in this Thread Sandog posted my CPU-Z Screens. The RAM runs with 1.5V even slightly Overlocked (666->760MHz/FSB 333->380) with 9,9,9,24/2T Timings completely stable.

So i would prefer this Memory-Kit if you are not into or just slightly overclocking and looking for an affordable solution.

Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg)

Also keep in mind that Timings should be slower even at Stock-Speed 666MHz according to CPU-Zs SPD-Readout (9,10,10,25), but the RAM runs in completely untouched AUTO-CONFIG-Mode in Intel-BIOS. I havenīt tweaked that manually. This is a bit strange. Maybe the BIOS ignores the SPD-Settings and goes own ways or there might be a readout error in CPU-Z.
