| Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg) Thanks for the help riffer and dave! I have to say that I am a bit afraid of the day I have to face this motherboard. I ordered it and then people started talking about it and 90% of the talk was bad. figures...

| Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg) Hello, I'm new to this forum but because this is only the one decent forum about the DP45SG motherboard i had to join //images.hardware.info/usersys/large/006061-1.jpg Installed al parts last Friday. Used some components from my current setup like the processor (E6600) and the PSU. I did a fresh install on a 320 GB sata drive. The os is Vista 64bit. The install succeeded and i run vista for a couple of hours doing some driver installations and looking around in vista. Then i did a BIOS update, the xpress BIOS Update [SOX5810J.86A.2786.EB.EXE]. And the machine restarted only this time a get a message like: GRLDR Resetting the boot drive... Success. Turning on gate A20... Success. hard drives: 1, int13: F0006D7), int15: E80000B4 get_diskinfo(80), int13/14(80) Then the screen stays like this and i can't boot to the working vista. Also the booting takes a long time is that because the newest bios isn't good ? Also after the post boot screen one beep is given by the board. kind regards Oboema Last edited by Oboema; 12-14-2008 at 12:13 PM.. |

| Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg) There was a dual boot option earlier with xp vista and osx. vista and osx on this HD and xp with his MBR on a other disk. I deleted both partitions on this HD and this is the only hd in the system currently. |

| Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg) If there's nothing important or time-consuming on the disk and you've got everything backed up, I'd still do that reformat and re-install of Vista. I'm assuming you set up the earlier multi-boot option either manually or with OSX (as Microsoft doesn't do anything with GRUB). There are probably ways to repair that, but I don't know anything about it. Anyway, it doesn't sound like a problem with the BIOS or the board. Perhaps just a problem with the MBR on the disk. If you want to try to repair the problem, you'll either have to wait for someone more knowledgeable than me or Google something about those error messages (something like 'GRLDR "Turning on gate A20" Vista' might be specific enough to narrow things down). |

| Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg) Thanks for the Yes - no procedure Dave! I was trying to take my OC out and the board only wanted my CPU to run at 2MHz. Was able to get the defualts back in by using the yes - no, method. Thanks. ![]() |

| Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg) I have this motherboard. I just put a new computer together but I cannot even get into the bios. I am stuck on the intel splash screen where it tells me: BIOS Settings: F2 Boot Menu: F10 Boot PXE : F12 There is a small box in the right hand corner that says 92. I press F2 and F10 and nothing happens. I have tried 4 different keyboards but nothing happens. Does any body know what is going on? I cant even set the boot menu to load an operating system. |

Check whether you have any USB hard drives / flash drives connected. If you do, disconnect them. What are your system specs? Graphics cards, ram etc. Make sure you have connected all the power connections on the motherboard including the 1x4 Molex connector on top of the primary PCIe 2.0 slot.

No usb drives. All the power connections (3 of them) are plugged into the motherboard. Here is what is in the system, it is pretty basic: XFX GeForce 9800 GT 512MB PCIe Intel DP45SG Socket 775 Motherboard Ultra X-Wind CPU Fan Aluminum Socket 775 w/ PWM Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66Ghz OCZ 2048MB PC10600 DDR3 1333MHz (2 x 1024MB) Ultra LSP550 550w Power Supply Sony 20X DVDRW SATA Hitachi 500GB Serial ATA HD 7200/16MB/SATA-3G I have never had this problem before on any computer I have made.

| Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg) If you have spare RAM, try replacing it and see if that works. Start a support thread with Intel too. They might be able to help you. I hope other users on this forum will offer you more insight as well. |

Ensure you have your internal PC speaker connected correctly. Try it both ways.

| Greetings Earthlings, First of all, amazing stuff this is the only place on the planet where this board is discussed, how did you do that? ^^ Anyway i want to run a Core 2 Duo at 4 GHz with 8 GB 1333 MHz RAM Here are the components i picked: Intel Desktop Board DP45SG Intel Core 2 Duo E8600 3.33 GHz Box Cooler Master V8 (RR-UV8-XBU1-GP) Kingston 2x KVR1333D3N9K2/4G And here is the Plan: 1. Buy Stuff 2. Put Stuff together 3. Set everything on default 4. Install Vista 64 5. Update to latest BIOS 6. Set FSB (System Bus) to 1600 7. Set RAM (Memory Bus) to 1333 Question: Is this possible with regard to the Board alone. I mean if the CPU can't take it or if it runs to hot, thats bad luck. My question is, can the Board do the FSB/1,2 (400/1,2=333 MHz) ??? (FSB to Memory Bus Divider) On a sidenote: Why don't you guys check kingston.com and buy the recomended memory (like i will) ? Wouldn't that save you all that memory troubles? |

| Re: Intel DP45SG (Skyburg) Sounds like that is going to be one Kick-*** Rig. Can I ask why you want to OC to 4Ghz? What G/Card are you looking at getting?

Desktop Boards - No Boot Wizard But, that probably won't be helpful. Their troubleshooting web page might be of more use: Desktop Boards - Troubleshooting system boot issues Since it mentions not being able to even enter the BIOS, the next thing I'd try is a clearing the CMOS: Desktop Boards - Troubleshooting system boot issues (that should be a more specific page of the above link) And, then, if that doesn't work, a Recovery BIOS Update: Desktop Boards - Instructions for Recovery BIOS update I assume that the latest BIOS (0102) would be the best to use (though that version does have problems with overclocking). Also, BluntSpoon mentions the speaker connection. But, since this board has a built in speaker, I wouldn't even connect an external speaker to it. Going through Intel technical support might be worth a try. But, I can see them coming back and saying that the first thing you need to do is replace the memory with something from their supported memory list (or at least something running at 1.5V -- again, I'm assuming your memory runs beyond that). Also, they have a tendency to suggest things like replacing processors (which is a bit silly for end-users).
