| memory voltages I have an Intel DP45SG Motherboard, and I initially bought the wrong ram for the board, since it is set at 1.5v default. I could not get the system to boot up, so after talking to Intel, they suggested that I try 1.5v ram, so I bought some and it started right up. You can go into the BIOS & reset the voltage for the memory slots to 1.6v, but I am curious if I can use the 1.5v in the secondary slots. Intel says no, but I was wondering if anyone had been successful trying something like this. Thanks |

| Re: memory voltages to ABXZone! If I understand the question correctly, you are asking if you can run both the 1.6V-rated memory and the 1.5V-rated memory at the same time, with the memory voltage set to 1.6 volts. I'd imagine that typically that would be ok, but I would first check with the manufacturer of the 1.5V memory to confirm that 1.6V would be safe for it. If so, give it a try, and if the system boots ok in that configuration run Memtest86+ for a few hours to verify its performance. Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool Regards, -- al
