One problem and one question.

Okay. I have an Asus CUSL2-C Black Pearl and I used to have an 45GB IBM 75GXP drive in here. One day I was just doing my usual thing and I noticed that the HDD LED was lit and was not going off. So I restarted and then I was greeted with an invalid system disk message.

So I went into the bios and it was as if there was no drive installed at all. So I plugged my HDD into the Secondary IDE and my CDRW and DVD into the Primary IDE and then the HDD worked fine, but the CDRW and DVD were not found.

So I don't know what I did exactly, but I got it to work with the HDD on the secondary and other drives on the primary. The problem was that the HDD seemed to perform a lot slower. I play Unreal Tournament mostly and I would get the PRECACHING message at times when I wouldn't before (like when I alt tabbed back into the game). I just attributed this to the drive being in the secondary.

Now I have a 60GB IBM 60GXP and the performance is still the same (with the precaching and stuff). So my question is, is anything messed up? Are there any tweaks I can apply to get that speed back?

Also a quick question, will the CUSL2(-C) support Tualatin? Thank you very much for your time.

SPECS:
Asus CUSL2-C
P3 700@1043
512MB Infineon PC133
MSI GeForce2 Pro
SBLive! Value (w/ digital out)
3Com905B-TX 10/100 NIC
ATi TV Wonder
IBM 60GP 60GXP
Toshiba 16x DVD
HP 8x4x32 CDRW

Go to Control Panel, Click on System, Click on the Device Manager tab, Click the + sign beside Disk Drives, Click the HDD, Click Properties, Then the settings tab & put a "Check Mark" in the box by DMA. Click ok, ok to get out and reboot. That should help the performance.

CUSL2, CUSL2-C & CUSL2BP will NOT support tualatin!
