| In preperation for Granite Bay Hi I have a GA-8INXP arriving soon and to guarantee dual ddr400 I have also bought a Mobile P4 1.7.When in a desktop board these cpu's default to their lower multiplier...12... so im pretty much guaranteed it will run high fsb's with ease. How does 210fsb at 1.475Vcore grab ya I can't push further as this is on air cooling on my IT7 which runs 2X256mb of Twinmos ddr400 and is set up as my server and as such has to be 100% stable...but i just couldn't resist have a play some screenies for you: With luck sometime tomorrow i should have this CPU in the 8INXP running at -40C in the prometheia at well over 200fsb (F2bios 355 max) Review to follow. |

| I was waiting for someone around here to plonk a mobile P4 into a desktop mobo. Figured it'd be you or Prom. It'll be interesting to see how far it'll go. That 355MHz FSB maximum is just silly. QDR that is over 1GHz. Oh Brother... -kONGO |

| All mobile P4's will work in desktop boards but they all default to a 12 multiplier.i have posted today at 230fsb and was running at 210fsb but have since swapped it back out for my 2.26b. one thing i did notice is that the cpu throttles at a lower temp or i don't have good contact with the hsf...either way if high fsb is your goal then the mobile cpu is the kiddy!! |

| bigtoe, that's very interesting, I haven't heard of this before, can you give us some more info and do you have any other benchmark results? What led you to go for the mobile? |

| Yup Nam i was going asus but the gigabyte looks better!!!.I did get the info off vr-zone but i have been thinking about the mobile cpu for a while...the review just pushed me to get one. If the 8INXP does not clock over 200fsb even though the bios shows 355 i will use it to replace my IT7 as my server and move on.Im sure i will be able to sell an IT7 proven to 200fsb with a standard P4 and 230 with a mobile |

| i think when the price point comes down on these CPUs, these will be good for cheap OC thrills on my 8IEXP. at a multi of 12 though, it can be seen that RAM quality will decide the limits of OCing. its gonna be an intriguing year with all these intel stuffs coming out.

| No hyperthreading on these mobile chips right? Bigtoe, could you check for HT with CPUID or Sandra? Thanks... Those FSB's are incredible...if these chips have HT (or are getting it in the near future), they'd be a real winner.

| Its a B0 step so HT is a nono...what i can say is that with better cooling it would do a 1000mhz overclock at 1.5vcore which is incredible. I have had a few problems but I do feel they are software related and as such I won't comment anymore on them. You do need a heatspreader and i used the one off an old celly T 1.2 i had going spare. |
