Re: *** rampage ii extreme ***

Thanks Skully, I go for the stock HSF for now.

I read since I bought 1600 DDR that I'm limited to 2.66, 3.2, and 4.0GHz. Is this correct? If so it's 3.2GHz for me and the stock HSF will probably do.

Thanks for the quick reply. So you set your bus speed to 200? I will use XMP with memory (CL8 1600).

I have speed step running....That's why the 12x instead of 21x multi
With load its 21x multi and 200 bus speed for a 4.2gig oc.
So yes I run 200 bus speed. Your memory should be fine.

The new bios 1504 is letting me run lower cpu voltage.
From 1.38v down to 1.36v getting down there with the Do stepping....

Re: *** rampage ii extreme ***

OK all, I tried OCing and it failed. What I have is memory set to:
7-7-7-20-41-1T-1.54V. Everything is XMP settings except the voltage which should be 1.65V

OK my CPU:
Tried fixing CPU to 20 with no Turbo, mem to x16, QPI to 18, and host frequency 165MHz (3300MHz) and no go.

Here's a temp plate of R2E bios settings, mine are higher then this one.
Its just an example..
Until you get a good oc on the cpu I'd leave the memory run at default.
If fact I run my memory at default all the time..and that's around 1600mhz
This is with a i7 920 CO stepping My oc is 4.2GIG 24/7
I'd move N S bridges up one notch IOH & ICH....
yes TURBO OFF..
BCLK frequency 200
try 21 multi or 19 multi they oc better the 20 on most mobo's
QPI frequency to its lowest number, I'm not sure of your mobo numbering of QPI.
UCLK frequency 2x DRAM frequency
