Re: *** rampage ii extreme ***

Thanks SS, I really like that cube case. I will post some Pics when I get back to my office on Friday.

Oh, BTW, that cable that was on the other forum, it was a SPIDF cable (who knew). I think it must have come with his GPU and got mixed with his R-IIEx cables.

Re: *** rampage ii extreme ***

I was just notified that the memory I have been waiting for is available in limited supply for those on the waiting list. More good news is that Corsair dropped the price by $100.
https://shop.corsair.com/store/item_view.aspx?id=833269
Of course I ordered it now all I need is a CPU. Perhaps I should not wait for the 975 and based on what SS and others are doing, get a 920.

I screwed up on the Rev. I have 2.01G. My GPU was covering it so I could not check to see if I had noted it wrong. When I removed the GPU to check, there is was

Re: *** rampage ii extreme ***

Hey Dan, great looking home for the Rampage 2...I bet you was glad to see Rev 2, makes the Rampage a nice mature mobo. And a good time to buy one. Once I got the Rampage broke in and the newest bios she's been running great. Also nice command center, like the wall pic's and swords.

Re: *** rampage ii extreme ***

I just ordered an i7 920.
I have to say, NewEgg is amazing. I ordered it about 9 AM, got a confirmation in 60 seconde, a confirmation of billing to my CC in ten minutes and a notice of ship in a few hours, all on a Sunday.
So, Sir Skully, I am sure I will have some OCing questions for you as soon as I get it and my Ram. Both should be here by Tuesday

Re: *** rampage ii extreme ***

Yeah that wasn't one of my better moments. Posting/pasting that guys comments about grounding. There really are several ways a mobo is grounded. We here on ABX years ago had a big discussion on mobo grounding. I myself researched the net on said subject. I have and will continue to use gaskets under the mobo screws. I've installed maybe 50 mother boards or more and never a grounding problem. I use the gaskets to keep the mobo screws secure/tight. In the ole days some of those cpu coolers could do 4000+rpm. Store bought/desktop PC's also use the red gaskets under screws. But anywho I flashed from bios 1104 which seems to be a gooden to the new bios 1201. So far its playing well, with my 4 GHz oc... Anticipating completion of your PC build...

Re: *** rampage ii extreme ***

The default multi is 20 on the i7 920. But there is a way to get a 21 multiplier. In the bios enable turbo and change the multiplier to auto.
Then save and restart, when ya get into windows. Bring up CPU-Z and
check the multi you'll see a 21 multi. I was using the 20 multi before with
a stable 4GHz, now a stable 42GHz...Nice! My SuperPi went from 10's to 9's.
The temps are cpu @ max 100% stress.
The key word is * fast *.............
