| Re: Rampage II Extreme or P6T6 WS Revolution Followed the guide Skully and sitting at 3.4ghz Just overclockerd to 3.4ghz ![]() Temps seem not too bad at idle, few degrees above standard wich is exected. Currently running OCCT to stress system and see how I get on with temps and whatnot. Under full load temps are just over 70c. This still seems a bit high?

| Re: Rampage II Extreme or P6T6 WS Revolution No that's not bad, full load 70c-75c on air is good. Let your thermal grease settle in. Then maybe temps will drop some. Even with water cooling full load for me is 68c to 71c. Remember you ain't hardly ever gone a run full load in everyday use.

| Re: Rampage II Extreme or P6T6 WS Revolution Right. Changed my oritentation of the fans at the back of the case as I suspected airflow OVER the cooler wasn't the best. So now I have one case fan (Noctua) at front sucking in air blowing over the hard drives. The back case fan pulling in air and blowing it towards the CPU heatsink, Antec PSU pulling out air and GFX card fan pulling out air. My Core temps seem to remain the same around 73c full load my CPU temp reported by speedfan has dropped to 62c under full load.

| Re: Rampage II Extreme or P6T6 WS Revolution Just overclocked the card to 730mhz Core clock, 1590mhz Shader Clock and 1230mhz (2460 effective) Memory clock. Stock clocks were 632mhz, 1404mhz, 1134mhz. Got the below 3dmark score. Nearly 2k points increase. ![]()

| Re: Rampage II Extreme or P6T6 WS Revolution Well my stuff arrived the other day Motherboard Rampage II Extreme Core i7 920 - CO stepping Corsair Dominator TR3X6G1600C8D 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 with X58 airflow fan Now I have to decide on a cooling solution (air). I have done a fair bit of research to assist me in making the right choice, however there does not appear to be an absolutely clear choice in this area. So far the best all round choice appears to be the Noctua NH-U12P SE1366, not the top performer, however, it is a complete package. Looks like it is time to do some online ordering. Cheers |

| Re: Rampage II Extreme or P6T6 WS Revolution Well, the build went great, the finished system looked top notch, unfortunately the system refused to post. It would start and all the fans would run, however, there was no progress beyond that. Here are some of the things that I did in an attemt to get the system to post Triple checked all plugs and fittings Cleared CMOS Plugged in the LCD poster and all it displayed was the power on time, nothing else. Removed the M/B battery for an hour and also swapped the battery Changed VGA cards Tried a different PSU Tried different configurations of RAM modules ( 1x, 2x, 3x) Reseated the CPU Attempted unsuccessfully to boot up the motherboard after removing it from the computer chassis Removed all non essential devices/ plugs from the Motherboard except the VGA card and 1 HDD, still would not post. Tried different HDD’s as well Started computer and let it run for a full hour, still would not Post or enter the BIOS Moved the jumpers to try the seperate BIOSes This is basically a brief overview of what was attempted to get the computer to Post. I did work on the setup over a period of approximately 6 days, unfortunately I was unable to rectify the problem. Anyway, I have applied for a RMA ticket from the reseller, should arrive tomorrow. So it looks like it will be a couple of weeks before I get the system running Cheers |
