| A Sleepless Intel DP45SG Hi All, I'm new to the forum and want to thank you in advance. I've an Intel DP45SG and am having problems getting the system to go into a sleep state. I'm utilizing the onboard SATA RAID controller (with 3x WD Caviar Green 500GB SATA HDDs in R5 and an older Maxtor SATA drive, as well as a Sony DRU-800A IDE DVDROM drive using a SATA-IDE bridge) and GeForce 8600 GTS video board. I'm running Vista 64-bit SP1 and am unable to get the system to go into sleep mode, either with the BIOS set for S1 or S3 sleep states. When put to sleep, the system appears to power down briefly but then spins back up and prompts for login. This has happened with the original BIOS version and each updated version, including the latest dated 5/5/09. Any ideas as to where I can look to troubleshoot the issue? Should I suspect one of the components (such as the DVD-ROM drive, which isn't native SATA) or is this potentially an OS issue? Many thanks again. /μm |

Also you can go to Mouse in CP or Device Manager and click on properties. Under power management uncheck the 'Allow this device to bring the computer out of standbye'. A lot of times if you sneeze an optical mouse will start up Windows. Also you may want to go to Display Properties/Screen Saver/Power Management/Advanced and set 'do not ask for password upon return from standby'. | |

| Re: A Sleepless Intel DP45SG Thanks! Removing the wake options from the LAN adapter did the trick. Very much appreciated. ![]() |
