What about Asus TUSL2?

Is it coming or is it available already?
I can't find it on any Asus website for more information.
I read somewhere it's going to be with a onboard RAID controller !
Yummy!!!!

For every day that passes, I would say the chance of it ever reaching the consumer channel is getting smaller and smaller. This because Intel decided to pull the plug on the consumer version of the Tualatin. The board could be released as a server-board for low-medium level servers though, but I doubt it.

The total lack of previews and rumors about it points in the no release direction also.

One thing I noticed was that according to the specs, the chipset is the i815E B-step, which has got the integrated graphics. This is either odd, or smart .

The odd scenario is, why would ASUS even bother putting integrated graphics on a board with RAID. Every buyer would couple the board with a reasonably high-performing AGP card, and not even bother with the integrated. It probably jacks up the price a couple of bucks too...

The other scenario is if ASUS have decided to market this board as a server board. Then the RAID/integrated graphics makes sense, since if you operate it as a server, you don't need 100+ fps in Quake3.

Your guess is as good as mine about what market this board is for, but I'm starting to lean towards the latter of the two above. If we'll ever see it in retail is however uncertain, since it hasn't popped up on any of the hardware sites yet.

WTF!!!!

When I visited the website where I bought my computer-stuff here in Sweden, what did I see? They have the TUSL2 (Yes, not -C - the one with RAID!!!). I was extremely surprised. This would indicate that it is indeed in retail. Very weird indeed. Very surprised...wow. Too bad I haven't got $500 to plonk out for a TUSL2 and a 512K Tualatin.

It's priced at SEK2020 which amounts to a bit less than $200. It's $40 over the TUSL2-C.

EDIT: After some searching I found it for SEK1894 also (~$180). Check out ITButikken.dk, they have an english version. You should be able to buy it from them even if overseas (if it isn't available there).

TUSL2

You can find the TUSL2 at MWAVE.COM. And I believe I saw a price of $112.

jmeyers...the card we're talking about here is the TUSL2 (not TUSL2-C). I checked mwave.com and saw it was a TUSL2-C available at $112. The TUSL2 has got on-board RAID 0/1 and the i815E B-step (with built in graphics).

Just wanted to clear this up.

Take care.

Ok Now I get it

Sorry about that, I did not ready the fine print or totally overlooked the 'C'.

I at present have the CUSL2. Sounds like the TUSL2 must be short in supply. I don't know why?
