| Re: X58 Motherboard Quality control issues Yeah I'm glad I didn't jump into this upgrade yet. I'll wait for things to level-out. Thanks zapionics for the read...

| Re: X58 Motherboard Quality control issues I went through this with an EXCELLENT overclocking board----the Abit AB9 Quad GT...... Gary Key and an enthisiast from England basically rewrote the BIOS for that board.....took about a month of work going back and forth to Abit...... and the results were impressive..... The Abit BIOS folks were totally disorganized, confused, and basically not much help...... Seems to be much the norm.... QA???? There is no extensive QA-----they ship it based upon a couple of test systems using a VERY small sample of components..... Hope for the best..... And brace themselves for the blast back from consumers..... By BIOS version .17 or .18------they usually have the BIOS a unit SHOULD HAVE SHIPPED WITH IN THE FIRST PLACE At the same time----I kind of sympathize with the BIOS folks-----how on earth can you possibly test ALL the different components and variations..... And still make a profit on a $200 piece of tech...... Think I'm gonna buy the MSI Platinum (if 12 gigs works on it) or the GIGABYTE GA-EX58-DS4 or maybe even the Biostar tPower x58----all have the right feature set for me without breaking the bank...... Anybody experience MSI boards recently???? I had an MSI 6 years ago..... it was a nice board.... Biostar has always given me good products----as well as Gigabyte....
