Unhappy about P4PE and MSI GF4

Hello everybody
I bought a P4PE few weeks ago.
The AGP warning led lights on when i plug my MSI GF4 TI 4200 VTD64 (MS8870 model).
I changed it for a Connect3d Radeon 9000 Pro and now the AGP warning led doesn't light anymore (and the card works perfectly).
But i'm quite worry because i will probably interested in buying a new graphic card in thr future (for instance a Radeon 9700 Pro when prices will have decreased) and i fear the AGP warning led !
I also try the GF4 on another motherboard and it seems to work (but it was a motherboard without AGP warning led).
I would like to know if my P4PE can be defective.
If not what can be the problem with the GF4 ? The power supply (a Supper Flower 300W) ? An incompatibilty with the MS8870 model ?

The GF4 Ti is a new card, and i don't understand why it's detected as a 3.3V AGP card instead of 1.5...

Maybe you looking at the wrong LED?

I'm neither silly nor blind ; the AGP warning led is red and prevent the P4PE from starting off while the other led is green and lights when the PSU is on.
With Connect3d Radeon 9000 Pro the led doesn't light while it lights with MSI GF4 !! Another idea ?

Try the obvious: ask a friend to test it for you on his/her motherboard...or take it to a store or something. Once again, i cannot believe that a GF4 is a 3.3V card.

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

Sounds like a defective video card if the Radeon will work on it.

Back when I had the P4PE I had the MSI GF4 128Meg Ti4200 8x working on the board without a problem.

Well I hope I don't have the same problem.

I just finished building my P4PE system, with that exact same MSI video card, and I plan my first boot tomorrow.

ok so you think the probability is higher that the MSI GF4 is defective (than the P4PE) ; i will try another VGA card if i can but i prefer to know your opinion at first time.
thanks to all.

Triton,

Like I said, I have the exact same MSI video card as you, and I booted my new P4PE computer for the first time today.

It works, everything seems okay.

I don't know what your problem could be, although I wonder about your power supply. It seems weak, but I don't know if that could be causing the problem you have.

i contact Asus by e-mail but they didn't tell me if the powersupply could light the AGP warning led. And i don't know who can answer such a technical question !
