| Asus EN9800 GTX+ stuck in 4bit Color Hi, I just built a new pc, loaded windows, and loaded drivers from the manufacturers' CD's. The major problem is after I install the Asus 177.39 I am stuck with 4bit color. The video card is an Asus EN9800 GTX+DK. After I uninstalled the drivers the display went to the normal default non-driver Windows XP display. Here are the other componenets: GIGABYTE GA-EP45-UD3P LGA 775 Intel P45 ATX Intel Motherboard ASUS EN9800GTX+ DK/HTDI/512M GeForce 9800 GTX+ 512MB SAMSUNG 22X DVD±R DVD Burner with LightScribe Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 Wolfdale 3.16GHz Antec NeoPower 650 4 GB DDR2 Corsair Memory WD 160GB SE Caviar I'm going to continue trying different things. Also, the video card came with a generic installation guide that applies to many different cards. Instead of using the PCI-E adapter that came with the card, I used one of the cables from my power supply (total of 2 PCI cables plugged into the card). I apppreciate any help. Thanks. |

| Re: Asus EN9800 GTX+ stuck in 4bit Color Update: My usb drives, external HD, and wireless internet adapter were not recognized, so I had to transfer files via DVD. Anyways, I installed Windows SP2 and everything looks normal. Currently, I'm installing CoD: World at War to do some stress testing. I hope everything works out. I guess I really suck at building and troubleshooting PC's, since this project has taken my about 8 hrs now. |
