Its odd you mention this; I had to disable my HDMI device on my 4870 HD card as it was impacting performance with Vista startup of services (ran very slowly). I have an X-Fi card installed.

I never had this problem till 9.2,

Before 9.1 I was getting that video stopped responding .. recovered on something like 1 and 4 boots. I would get it in the first 20 min.

ATI has been an adventure.
