* ATI CrossFire set-up *

Two ATI 4870's 1gig of memory each card. I call it my half breed on the rampage. One card under water, and the other on air. This setup is running smooth. I'm now playing CALL OF DUTY, world at war. Everything maxed out. This game doesn't even make the Half Breed blink. Here's futuremark score...and PIC of the * Half Breed *

Re: * ATI CrossFire set-up *

I have crossFire oc'ed right now, and haven't checked the temp. I played CALL OF DUTY world at war for an 1 hr+ with all maxed out, with no problems. I'm still in the early stages of video cards and new mobo. So I'm still trying to figure all this out. I'll have more answers later. All I can say for now is CrossFire and Rampage are working quite well together.....

Next upgrade maybe NB under water along with the new ATI card....

Re: * ATI CrossFire set-up *

Nice score Sir Skully!

I was waiting for you to install a second card so i can compare your scores to my 4870X2 setup. My rig gets about 20,000 points (@3.4GHz), your ~27,000 points (@4GHz) would be a nice improvement, but a new mobo + cpu + ram are still to expensive for me right now.

Greetings

Dru

Re: * ATI CrossFire set-up *

Hey thanks Dru, you have a fast rig. I have a fast rig. But someone else has a rig that's faster, that's life. Your card will play any game on high or better. After a week or two of benchies. One dosen't care much anywho. As long as ya can play games on high or better. Enjoy that rig buddy.....

By the by, I also was wondering what the 4870X2 was getting. I understand our cpu's and oc would make a difference.

Re: * ATI CrossFire set-up *

Sir Skully,

I see you only use one Bridge Interconnect. I read some places that you should use two. Why the conflicting info?

I wish I could find a page that was " everything anyone would want to know about Crossfire"

Hey Chuck, two bridges for three card crossfire, one bridge for two card setup.
My benchies alone show my crossfire is working fine.......

Re: * ATI CrossFire set-up *

I haven't tried both, but if I were to guess. I'd say no difference. The Asus user guide doesn't say to use one or the other. I just connected as per the pic's in the Asus user guide.

I don't see any pdfs for Asus graphic cards. This is the type of articles that talk about two connectors.

Radeon HD 4850 and 4870 CrossfireX
