| I am trying to upgrade this machine with W98 to XP and XP doesn't like the AGP card so I am trying to replace it with a ATI PCI card while still running 98. The problem that I am coming up against is that the mboard won't recognise the ATI PCI card even after I uninstall all of the drivers and everything. One long beep and three short ones whenever the PCI card is in by itself. I tried changing the cmos to check for PCI/AGP but that doesn't seem to help. Anything else I should check? Thanks, SGSchwab |

| I tried to install both cards at the same time in Win98 and the PCI card was recognised and the drivers installed when both cards were in the machine but it would not run solo. I am using the XP upgrade software and when it did its hardware compliance check it rejected the AGP card as incompatible. Just more info. Thanks for the quick reply! SGSchwab |

| I did some research on your mobo. You might find your current system too slow for XP. You are better off staying with win98. I am not quite sure why the PCI card won't work by itself. But it should work though. I can't find drivers for your vid card anywhere. Sorry, it might be time for you to update your hardware before installing XP. Edit: Correction, your vid card is a TNT2. It should work under xp no problem. http://www.nvidia.com/view.asp?IO=winxp-2k_41.09
