| Re: Cat 9.11 released Installed them last night - woke up this AM and rig was froze. This never happen before so I suspect the Cat's are the culprit. Went back to the 10's.

| Re: Cat 9.11 released ...and of course let us not forget - "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!" I also noticed with the new cats my GPU fan speed increased a bit before settling down after booting. Performance wise I gained 1 FPS in Far Cry 2. I may have mucked something up when I inadvertantly set to "default" in the Overdrive section of CC. Have installed an additional Burner - however it works great and I highly doubt that had anything to do with it. If it stays stable now - I'll wait a few days and try the 11's. If it locks up again - no doubt what the culprit is!

| Re: Cat 9.11 released I reinstalled the Cat's two days ago and it has been rock solid. I updated to a new BIOS for my mainboard and that could have contributed somewhat to the current stability. Minor FPS increases. Bit smoother gameplay.

| Re: Cat 9.11 released I installed them 3 days ago. I have not noticed any difference good or bad. [edit] Actually on my pc listed as rig 2 in my sig. I have always had to underclock the video memory because it would for what appears to be no reason black out and lose signal to the monitor. I would have to do a system restart to get signal back to my monitor and other times the video driver would just crash and recover on its own with a error message. I forgot to underclock my card and it has been fine all weekend so far. It is a factory overclocked card and I just put it off as a flaky card. It would never crash while gaming, usually just Internet browsing or maybe opening up a folder. Maybe ATI fixed it for me.

| Re: Cat 9.11 released After reading a few negative posts on other forums I've held off on the update. Since no one here seems to be having problems maybe I'll go ahead and install.

| Re: Cat 9.11 released Installed and running with no problems so far. Using the ATI Overdrive and Auto Tune my GPU clock speed stayed the same going from 9.10 to 9.11. My Memory Clock went from 1015 to 1060. It's folding with the GPU2 client and temps are still at 67 - 68 C on air.

| Re: Cat 9.11 released I have only had my card drop signal once since I updated the drivers to 9.11 and when it did, the gpu fan sped way up. I had to do a hard reset. In my previous post I said I had to underclock the memory, actually I had to underclock the core as at desktop, the memory isn't even running at speed. I may give the 9.12 drivers a shot and see if they work also. A few years ago, I flashed a bios on a x800 video card to a X800XTX and it did the same thing, after I reflashed it back to original bios, it was fine and still works great in my old Pc800DLX with a 3.2ee cpu today. What brand was your 3870 card? I may look into flashing the bios of my 4890 back to recommended specs.
