| i have the dell 2405fpw, and i love it. My only issue is that if you are a stickler for being of 30fps or 40fps avg in games, then you might want to consider a new vid card, though i'm not so sure how the x850 will hold up. I can barely play bf2 at 1600 resolution never mind the fact that bf2 doesn't do 1920 which is the monitors default. I love this monitor so i'm upgrading soon. Just something to think about. oh and as for deals, the 2405fpw has deals on a regular basis, just keep an eye on it.

| I got the 2005FPW and i coudlnt be happier. Its not as big as the 2405 (obviously) but it has a lower resolution which will let your graphics card fare better, its cheaper and the 2405 doesnt have HDCP so you can watch HD content on it, so its a purely computer monitor

| no it doesnt, the 3007FPW is the only PC monitor i know of. But considering you cant use HD with the monitor unless you get the 30, you may as well get the cheaper one, as i can vouch from experience that the 2005FPW is a great monitor for gaming, and in general

| I love my 2005FPW, it scales excellent at 1280x1024 and above resolutions. Games are killer no ghosting that I've ever seen...that was my main concern when moving from CRT. Keep an eye on "gotapex.com" they have coupon codes fro Dell LCD's all the time, I saved a bundle with them.

The 2407 should have all the connections of it's older brother the 2405. I'm not sure about the input connectivity of the 2007. Supposidely a faster pixel response time on these newer monitors as well.

| I've been lurking at LCD's for a year now and still haven't found the right one... I also need one that is great for gaming but also good for normal desktop work. I guess I'll wait what Dell has in store for us the next couple of months.

| Well - the 2405 is growing on me but I hate the thought of getting this now and seeing the new one roll out with better response times in the very near future. The widescreen gaming really is pretty damn amazing and the stated response time of 12ms does seem to be in line with what my VP912b performed like. If they were to get it down to 8ms it would REALLY rock!

| I've been in the "desperately need new monitor" boat since May now. I've been holding out for the new Dell's to come out. I'm torn between two 2007s and a 2407 assuming they have all the DRM (grrrr...) stuff for Vista included. I think Dell is probably the best way to go for widescreen LCDs. I doubt the response time on the new ones will be below 8ms though.
