Monitor??? I built a new system about 4 weeks ago-P4 2.8, P4PE, ATI 9700, etc. Everything runs great[excluding the high temp readings] except for one little problem Every few seconds the display jumps slightly in the horizonal plane. This is really distracting. I'm now running at 3.2 gig, but the problem started before I overclocked and hasn't gotten worse. The 9700 is not overclocked. I'm using an old Samsung 20 inch [Syncmaster 20GLsi] that I really like. Could it be that the monitor is getting weak? These Samsung's have always run forever in the past. Is there a tweak that could cure it. Any help would be appreciated.

That doesn't seem like a monitor problem to me... Maybe a mis-configuration somewhere? Then again, I'm not very familiar with Samsung monitors being that I use Trinitrons.

Thanks for the response. I'm just hoping I can adjust something on the ATI card. It didn't happen with my old NVidia system.

| If your talking about the "shimmering" that goes on with the 90xx cards, try using your DVI connector that came with your 9700 card ,that should reduce the lines..Theres no other fix for this....

Thanks, guys, for the ideas. My problem was that the whole desktop/website/etc would shift right about 1/16 inch and then immediately back. I say was because since I've been up today it hasn't happened. Maybe it cured itself.[I also believe in the Easter Bunny] Thanks again O'Dell

PS: when I moved my rig under the table it seemed to minimize the occurence. It could be related to EMI... ![]()
