Definitely tell us.

And if you have any links to any reviews about the Diamond, Asus, Visiontek, and other flavors of the 3870, please post them.

And what about the new single slot width 3870 cards?

Re: need a 3870

Okay, and for the results....

Basis System:
ASUS P5E-VM HMDI
e2180 Proc
4Gb (2x2 - 555 15)

Defualt settings, no OC, no tweaking.
I plugged the peices together, installed the OS(WinXP 32bit) installed chipset, sound and vid drivers(CCC 8.1) then ran 3DMark06.

3Dmark06:8426

SM 2.0: 3668
HDR/SM3.0: 4387
CPU: 1751

When I get more time, I will start OCing and tweaking...

Any specific benchmarks you'd like to see?

There seems to be two different models of the HIS 3870 IceQ 3.

HIS Hightech Radeon HD 3870 H387Q512NP IceQ3 Turbo Video Card

and the

HIS Hightech Radeon HD 3870 H387QS512NP IceQ3 Turbo Video Card

What exactly is the difference?

iMogel -

Is there a way to contact HIS? I hope your product information included with your card gives an email address. I looked for a way to contact HIS at their website and found only a Hong Kong phone number. I wanted to email my above question to them.

I was afraid of that. One version has it and the other one doesn't.

What is the model number on yours? The QS or the Q?

BTW the website has no email contact.

Re: need a 3870

This is the one I have:
HIS Hightech Radeon HD 3870 H387Q512NP IceQ3 Turbo Video Card
The 'Q' version.

There is a contact, throu tech support, I asked for yea...
Dunno what kinda response we'll get though... or when! hehe

---

Also having a few probs with my O/C, and I got myself kinda nervios now

My ram supports voltages of up to 2.1. I set 2.1 in BIOS, but throu ASUS's AI Suite, it says the voltage is set to 2.5!!!!
I set the voltage to 2.1 in AI suite, and BIOS reports 1.88.

System boots up at a CPU multi of 10 and a MEM speed of 300 for a 3Ghz clock and 1.2Ghz bus... crashes in 3dmark06.
I tried @ 6x400 for a 2.4Ghz and a 1.6ghz bus... boots, but crashes 3dmark06 again.
both times mem volts at 2.0 in BIOS.

Just found out my CPU volts are at 1.16... gunna bump that up and try again.

Minimum of 39, average of 64. That works! One card? Not CrossFire?

Thanks for asking in your email. My guess right now is that the S in the QS must stand for Special Edition.
