Talking New 43.00 drivers are wicked!

I must say, don't know what was done to these drivers but this is the best results I have had with my 4200 since owning it. UT2K3 is incredibly smooth in game and C&C Generals is like 10x better than it was before. I could almost instantly tell when playing UT2K3 that it was smoother, just felt almost like I was playing a DOS game. Incredible. Now this is what I expect from my video card... Anyhow, try em out, I'm sure they are just generally excellent drivers. About time Nvidia.

Interesting.

Does anyone know if these 43.xx series are finally DX9 compliant? Do you have DX9 installed, madhadder?

The race for quality has no finish line- so technically, it's more like a death march.

All I see are the 41.09 drivers. Are these new beta or leaked drivers? I haven't used a nVidia card in so long that I don't even know where to go to get the leaked drivers anymore.

I have DX9 installed yep, as to whether they are fully compliant, I am unsure.. didn't take the time to check... All I know is there is something good in these drivers cuz my games work beautifully now and I got no plans to change these babies... Hehehhee.

ya that's right, knew someone released em... was thinking Leadtek until I saw your post. All I know is since they were released, I think some 37,000 people downloaded em from guru3d... so that means something for less than a week out. Heh...

Just in time for the FX release. Seems a little ironic doesn't it? I bet they post the official release on or about March 11. I thought they had been a little quiet for the last month or so. Good on em for making a big product change. Wonder what the numbers will look like in gaming benchmarks.

basing it on 3dmark is pointless. First off, 3dmark as vendors have stated in plain english, test drivers for unrealistic and unused functions in games. As is the case with the latest 3dmark. I don't use 3dmark, I use games to judge performance. 3dmark is a marketing tool imho. How one can base 3dmark for assessing driver completeness or performance increase is beyond me. When I noticed once a long time ago, my 3dmark went up about 100 points and my gamer performance went down (visibly noticable) and then one time it only went up 10 points and my driver performance was through the wall. This clearly proved to me that 3dmark is based not on how games function but on one persons perception of how to benchmark a card. And imho, that person hasn't got a clue. I use Sisoft Sandra for my system and I use game to base my opinions.

All above being true...I gained 500 points over the 41.09 in case you were wondering. The thing I noticed the most was the image quality in BF1942 is monumentally better. That is what is important to me. Explosions look better, and the terain rolls smother.

ya i wish there was a changelist so we could see what was modified to change the performance and quality so much... considering all the releases of drivers... i'm confused what took so long to get this kind of performance.
