I think the 9800 (non-pro) will be a real nice choice. It'll probably run a bit better/faster than the 9700Pro due to refinements and hardware bug fixes and will probably cost around $300. I think I may be hitting my wife up for an early Bday present.

Hmm, not much in the way of changes besides the speed bump. Plus, no 9800s right now because yeilds are to good on the 9800Pros and the 9800 will have an MSRP of 349. Guess there won't be a big jump till ATI goes to .13um on their high end.

Yeah, but the .13um isn't happening till this fall. The 256MB is happening in April. As I understand it, the R400 has been pushed out to 2004. Fall 2003 ATI will implement a revamped R350 @ .13um - plus some other goodies I'm sure.
