RMA Asus v9280, should i get ATI?

The fan on my Asus V9280 has started to make mechanical noises so i'm in the process of having it RMA'd through the dealer i bought it from. If possible I would like to get another card instead *has anyone had any luck with this????*
I am looking at the r9500 pro, the albatron turbo (this is supposedly noisy does anyone have experience?), and the leatek A280.
I can get both the ti4200 cards below $300 CAD but the ati is well over $300 for the "ati retail." I can get the Saphire R9500 retail for under $300, why is this? Is the Saphire clocked slower?

Any suggestions would be helpful

The 9500 Pro is the better card, mainly for the DX9 support. Is the Sapphire you are looking at a pro or non-pro? There isn't much difference between the ATI/Sapphire cards.

But with ATI announcing it's new lineup of cards (9800/9600/9200) we might see some price drops soon. Don't expect the 9500 Pro to drop that much though. The 9600 Pro is probably gonna be in the same price range, but initial tests are showing it is a bit slower than the 9500 Pro.

Yah, the Saphire is "Pro retail" and it is $30 cheaper than the ATI.
I am dreading the sight of an ATI card in my case (my window allows me to c it all day!) as in my opinion they r ugly compared to the beauty of the chromed ti4200. But there seems to be no way around the fact that they are equal or better in all applictions. My main goal is to have a card $300 and under that will play games for at least the next yr ( a lot to ask i know )

Thanks DOA

The Sapphire cards seem to be a great alternative but i've noticed two versions. The "atlantis" and the plain R9500 Pro, the Atlantis seems to come with a different HSF and i've read that the bios is locked so no "easy" oc'ing. Any comments?

I think almost all 9500 Pro cards have their BIOS locked. Mine was too, but thanks to warp11's hacked BIOS, I was able to flash my card so it's now overclockable
There is a huge thread over at www.rage3d.com

Vid card has been sent away for RMA but they won't exchange it for a different card so i guess i'm trying to sell a brand new Asus V9820/TD.
