Sapphire HD5870 Vapor-X Reviews!

The reviews are coming in and I'm glad that I ordered one last week (should be here tomorrow), the main reason for me was the Vapor-X cooler, by the looks of it in the reviews it will cool at least 10C or more than the stock cooler and Quieter overall and for $10 difference in price you can't beat it!

Re: Sapphire HD5870 Vapor-X Reviews!

I just got a Vapor-X and running it on 2x 24" Dell's, the problem is on extended desktop the right hand screen flickers on the bottom half when scrolling up and down in my mail program or any other program on that monitor? I have changed cables, ports on the video card, and it still does it. I have XP pro on one HD and W7 RC on another, the latest drivers on both and its the same on either one...any ideas or is it a bad card? Ran Vantage on performance and scored 14478, any help would be great...by the way I have a Corsair HX620 for a PS....

Re: Sapphire HD5870 Vapor-X Reviews!

From off the net I read its a AMD/ATI driver problem. And ATI is working on it.
I hope they come up soon with a solution, for all the folks with multi displays.

Thank you so much Skully, I guess I should just keep it and hope they find a solution?

You're welcome, I'd think they/ATI would be coming forthwith on a solution.
As I'd imagine there's lots of folks with multi displays.

Re: Sapphire HD5870 Vapor-X Reviews!

I couldn't take the stupid FLICKERING anymore and RMA it back to Newegg for a refund, waiting for a new Nvidia card! Put my Nvidia 8800GTS (G92) back in and works perfect on both monitors!

I'd do the same if running dual monitors..
ATI has stopped production of 5870 card I've read on the net.
I only run one monitor at this time, fortunately!
With a $110. DangerDen water block on it, I need to hang with the 5870.
So far its been great.....

Re: Sapphire HD5870 Vapor-X Reviews!

If I had just one monitor I'd still have it, but there is no way I can go back to one now! LOL..... Here's the story on low abundance of the 5870 and 5850 cards....
