Switching from 5900Ultra to Asus AX800XT...what do I need to know?

So I've ordered an Asus AX800XT (AGP8X) and I already know how to uninstall the nvidia drivers, use driver cleaner in safe mode & reinstall ATI drivers etc.....

Anyone know what ATi drivers are proven most stable?

Is there anything that needs to be turned off/on like fastwrites etc?
How do I do that in the first place?

Steps:

Uninstall the nVidia drivers in Windows normal mode
Remove any remaining driver components using DriverCleaner in safe mode (Install it first in regular mode)
Reboot to regular mode, install ATI drivers (me, I like the Omega ones for the best balance of IQ and speed - do not tweak them, they are fine out-of-the-box pre-tweaked)
Reinstall DirectX 9.0c from the redistributable download, not the Windows Update version.

That should do it unless something goes wrong.

thanks. what version of the Omega drivers should I use?

Is this the web-site where I can find them: http://www.omegadrivers.net/

I take they are better than the drivers released by ATi?
