Hi, Well my new gear arrived, cuv4x-d and v8200 geforce3 deluxe, last friday. Its taken a few days to get it all stable but it rocks big time. Wasnt sure if I would notice much difference going from a geforce2 gts but now I can play Star trek voyager or q3 with graphics maxxed out and its doesnt even flutter. Definitely my best buy since the v7700. Neill

My previous card was also a GF2 GTS before upgrading to the GF3 (Hercules). I was going to go all out and make the move to the P4 1.7GHz but GF3 runs every thing I have very, very well. Using the Quinconx (spelling?) is awesome. Mechwarrior 4 looks to good to be true. The wife walked by when I was running the 3DMark 2001 benchmark and stoped and asked me to run it again. Normally she could care less about me and my "computer games," yet the graphics are so incredible even she had to stop and take note.

Mechwarrior 4 Hi Rodney, 3d mark 2001 looks great with the geforce3, whats your benchmark? max I have got so far is 4159. Im gonna go back and try mechwarrior 4 again. Couldnt play it before because there is a known problem with a cusl2 and an asus v7700 geforce2 gts, made it crash randomly!!! You should try star trek voyager too with graphics at total settings it looks great and plays great. Neill

| No conflicts huh? Im on the edge of buying the geforce 3 but have heard that there will be a geforce 3 with a higher core and memory in the fall. Does anyone have any major promblems with instalation or running normal games at this time? and do you really see that much of improment considering the games arnt up to par for the 3? | Perfomance Hi, I was going to wait for a higher speed version one too, but decided what the hell, go for it now. My next card chage will be for a quadro chipset when they get all the geforce3 features on it. Even though the clock settings are the same as the ultra it still gives better performance due to the new t&l routines and lightspeed memory thing. The only problem its that geforce3 is only supported properly under one build of directx 8. There are a few games around already for it, 4x4 evolution is great. Neill |

Berry, So do you have 4X4 Evolution? It wasn't clear in your post. I didn't know that it took advantage of the GF3's new features. I am going to go check that one out. I just bought B-17 and I'm can't say that I'm impressed yet. Rodney

4x4 Hi Rodney, Yeah 4x4 has a patch to make it geforce3. It adds in vertex shaders. I didnt notice much graphical change but it runs really smoothly at high resolutions. Im waiting in aqaunox being released. It looks pretty cool. Neill
