| New AMD64-build + 6600gt strange colors Just build a pc for a friend. Having some trouble in games. Every game produces strange colors like extreme contrast (see Screenshot) System specs: Asus a8n sli nforce4-sli Club3d geforce 6600gt x 1 AMD 64 winchester 3200+ 2 x 512mb samsung pc3200 standard (dual channel) 420 watt psu Drivers: Mobo: 6.53 Display: 71.84 Every setting on default both drivers and game settings and bios. I have no idea whats going on. Any input is much welcomed ![]() |

| Hmm... Re-install the drivers using Driver Cleaner to erase them first. If that doesn't help, then slap the 6600gt into another rig and see if problems follow it. Also try'n put another VGA card into your rig and see if you still get given grief.

| Allready tried that. And I should say that this occurred after a fresh windowsxp install. And so far happens in every game we tried. I have no other card to try and don't know anyone with pci-e so I could try it in their pc I would just like to rule out hardware failure ![]() |

| when a video card shows weird colors it is either a the card is getting to hot b the card has a defect in the chip it self c courrpt drivers i would say that most likily that the card is defective you have went through all the prceedures of checking it and if u have the same results on another working computer THEN most often it is the source |

| What you are seeing is PIXEL SHADER at its Worst does that happen in all your games because it looks like your pixel shader is not shading right which could only be a defect in the card itself you should try all types of games that support the pixel shading as most of your new games do and you can also try adjusting the contrast in the games contorl panel and at the nvidia control panel |
