| Nvidia GT300 officially revealed Both Fudzilla and Bright Side of News are reporting that GT300 will sport 512 shaders and contains 3 billion transistors. They're also reporting that GT300 will go back to G80's old 384-bit memory interface, with 6 64-bit memory controllers being implemented with support for up to 6GB of GDDR5 memory. Today's GTX 280 utilizes a 512-bit memory interface with 240 stream processors. GT300 reportedly ships with a massive 1MB of L1 cache which is split into 16KB cache for each shader cluster. The chip also features 768KB unified L2 cache memory. BSN says GT300 supports the latest floating-point standard and natively supports C++ If these leaked specs are indeed accurate, GT300 could be a monster for both gaming and general compute applications. BSN believes that GeForce 380 for desktops will ship with 1.5GB of memory, while Tesla and Quadro boards could ship with 3GB or 6GB... nVidia GT300's Fermi architecture unveiled: 512 cores, up to 6GB GDDR5 - Bright Side Of News* Fudzilla

| Re: latest GT300 rumors Interesting, I would have thought NVidia would move to a smaller more streamlined chip to compete on price. Weren't the G200's too big and expensive to compete with ATI already? Anyway I like NVidia made by EVGA but am leaning towards a pair of 5850's. I am going with 2 cards next time because I can. I got the power and the mobo. Although if the new NVidia card is a real killer I might get one. |

| Wow Nvidia officially announced their new GPU arthitecture today at their developer conference...this is a beast of a card!...seems more like a CPU/GPU combo with L1/L2 cache, built in C++ code etc...it's not a question of will they be able to outperform ATI's newest card but by how much...why anyone would even consider a 5870 after hearing about Nvidia's latest offering is beyond me (unless they are a true ATI fanboy) maybe for those that want to save a few bucks ATI is the way to go but for blazing performance Nvidia is scary good...although after reading a few articles about this new architecture I'm wondering if Nvidia is spreading itself out beyond simple 3D gaming performance and into other areas...either way this is the DX11 upgrade I will be waiting for... more info.. | Re: Nvidia GT300 officially revealed why...because most people don't care about the CPU stuff NVidia is putting in there. They want the most efficient, cheapest, and highest quality 3D/gaming card. |

| Nvidia’s next generation GPU codenamed Fermi will launch in 2009...one of the Senior people at Nvidia did confirm that the chip should ship in 2009. So if you are after the fastest and probably the best single GPU that can do a lot of cool computing, this might be the one for you. We still don’t know the price but we would not be surprised it if launches as $399 part for a single and probably $649 for dual... Fudzilla - Fermi GT300 ships in 2009 **$399 for the high end single GPU is not too bad...much better then the $599 high end cards of a few years back
