I have had come across bad ram 2x in 2009. Quality control is going down the hill. Both were major brands. At-least you may have found it. Better then having random BSOD.

Still could be 1T used as a set.

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

Chuckbam, in the process of changing out my ram, I see that the sticker on the side of my ram reads 1.65V but the packaging I believe indicated 1.5V. If I leave it set on auto for the volts, it only gets 1.5V according to CPU-Z. When I was testing my ram I then set it at 1.52V just for a little bump to see if that would help. maybe I should set it at 1.65 V? I ran the one stick on Prime95 for 30 minutes at 1.5V and it ran fine so i stopped the test and was swapping it to the next stick of ram when I noticed the volts.
I am positive that on Newegg it said this was 1.5V but now when I check newegg it says it is 1.65V. I know that with the I7 920 you are not suppose to go over 1.65V and I got the Gold version of OCZ ram so I would have a little headroom if I needed the extra bump for o/c. I am going to test the other 2 sticks on prim95 for 30 minutes apiece and if all 3 sticks work, i will try tripple channel again but at 1.65v. If this is the problem, what a simple mistake (on my part), LOL

After you check one at a time, and all is good, it is probably configuration - Good Luck

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

This time core one crashed within 2 minutes. Same error message except it was core one this time instead of 6. I am in tripple channel 8,8,8,24 T2 at 1.64V. I can only choose 1.64 or 1.66v. I guess I will go back to extended test on each stick again.
Before I did not get a core failure or hardware failure, just a BSOD so I guess this is making headway.

Maybe go to the OCZ forum support site.

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

Thanks Chuckbam for your help because I believe you helped me figure out this is ram related as I am now just getting errors instead of BSODs after changing ram settings. I will go over to thier forums and see if I can find any info on my problem. I wonder why I can not set my ram voltage at 1.65v as alot of the ram, (most) is 1.65v ram, but my MB only lets me choose 1.64 or 1.66. I imagine it could make a difference in stabality.

I have read about that 6.4 to 6.6v on reviews.

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

A common problem not just with this ram but many other makes is setting the QPI voltage. On auto it must be set too low. On alot of forums I am being told to up it to atleast 1.3 or 1.35v or even higher. Right now I am running mine at 1.35v and running prime now for 25 minutes. That is the longest in tripple channel for me so far. I am running very ralaxed timmings and 2T. Dram is set at 1.64v. If this runs for atleast 2 hours, I will try tighting my timmings up and see what happens. Also remember this is all at stock speeds, no O/C at all. I am making some progress here

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

Well, it has been over a hour now and still testing strong. I believe the default QPI/Dram voltage of 1.2v is just too low.

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

Ok I got it stable overnight at stock clock speeds so today I got a little aggressive and these are my settings right now. CPU is running at 3.5ghz
I have Blck set at 175, cpu voltage set at 1.275, Dram voltage at 1.64, QPI/Ram voltage at 1.35, I upped the CPU PLL to 1.8v. I did set the ram speed to the slowest speed so it is now at 525 so 1050mhz effective, but I got extremely tight timmings of 6,6,6,18 T1. So far I am 1hour stable in Prime95.
When I was testing my games out at stock speeds, I noticed a few fps gain when I went from 8,8,8,24 to 7,7,7,20 timmings. I am waiting on Prime95 to run a few hours today before I try out my games at these settings to see what fps I get. I also disables tubo mode of course.
Using realtemp3.0 I am mostly holding at 66 to 68 degrees but did spike at 70degrees when I wasn't looking while running prime95. Before starting Prime95 I was idling at around 39 degrees. IF I can keep these speeds I will be pretty happy with this build. By the way Chuckbam, I visited your webpage and really found alot of useful info. Great stuff, thanks.
