Wow, I did not see that before.

I did not enable VT, I just never disabled it.

As of late, I have been running all 3 PM. SpeedStep, C1E and C-State. This is one thing I found on C-State.

I hope you are now on-board with this platform. On the other forums all they post is OC and Supper PI. I would like to get into the real stuff. Thanks for pointing that out.

I don't plan on using VT, should I disable it? Any other info. How did you notice the I/O APIC?

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

Yep, that is the same problem, if it is one. Unsure if it is the same range and most likely will not be for me. I will see tonight when I get off work. I have no issues with my system and technically this error can be something different than how it reads.

How I found it? I look into something as much as I can . Matter of fact, I was impressed with the fact that the P6T placed the PCIe root ports in MSI mode and allocated the IRQ's really, really well. You can find message-signaled interrupts by viewing the Device Manager and changing the view to connection. Expand the IRQ section and note the negative interrupts. These are MSI (Note, only Vista and *nix do MSI). This was a big and better difference from the GA-EX58-UD5, but the Gigabyte motherboard did have more QPI devices in System Devices which I thought as strange. Seems they would be the same.

Actually, VT and VT-d are two technologies. VT is integral to the processor and VT-d is integral to the chipset. I was curious if this possibly caused the range conflict. I always leave VT on because I do use it and looking forward to using VT-d. There is nothing wrong with leaving it (either of them)enabled and something that you do not want to enable later when you use virtualization.

I was just curious if your experience with higher C states are any better or worse than C1E. Cooler, or didn't wake from the low power states fast enough, etc. I guess I am curious if it is just as transparent as C1E is.

Been on the Core i7 for a bit, but the two Gigabyte boards I had were horrible. Finally went with the P6T-Deluxe and it is perfect. That was the only thing so far I discovered, that is possible negative. I never like to have any errors and conflicts, and make sure I have nothing of such.

All, I have experienced is.

a) SpeedStep and C1E Disabled and c-State Enabled gave me higher CPU temps than b) SpeedStep and C1E Enabled and C-State Disabled

Now I have all three enabled and CPU temps are like (b). Don't know how I can test the advanced c-States.

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

The memory range is the same so it is something intrinsic to the motherboard.

ASUS P6T Deluxe has a memory range conflict on the device I/O APIC controller by chuckbam

I member of ABXZone.com pointed out to me that the ASUS P6T Deluxe has a memory range conflict on the device I/O APIC controller. Does anyone have more information on this?

What a joke!

Anyhow, can you guys flash the latest beta bios 1003: ftp://ftp.asus.com.tw/pub/asus/mb/LG...ELUXE-1003.zip

See if that fixes the conflict issue.

I saw that you have posted on the Asus forums. I actually wanted to inform you that 1003 has been ratified, and available for download and flashing. I am about to go and try it out.

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

All is good with version 1003 BIOS. The memory range conflict still exists, but I have had no problems, to my knowledge, that come from this. Actually, the only problem I have is flashing this motherboard. That is twice when it reboots, it doesn't reboot. I have to reset or power down for it to boot. Have you had the same experience?

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

My P6T Deluxe comes in Monday.....

After a ton of research----basically all the boards looked pretty capable....albeit all new boards seem to ship with beta bios that aren't really tested......

but the Asus board just seemed to be more solid with better overall BIOS support....

And more people have it so the experience factor is just .....nicer

I hated paying close to $300 for it and held off for a while----but a deal on ebay with Microsoft Cashback was just too good to pass up.

got if for $285 with free shipping-----still too much but there you go.....

One board that got my attention was the Biostar tPower x58....

XS guys are touting it as the possible overclocking king----but then again----the DFI x58 hasn't hit the scene yet. If Biostar was a little faster with BIOS support----I'd have gone that route.

In the end though----I just guess you can't go wrong with Asus.....

I just tuned it off and on w/the case button. Did not need to turn off by the PS. This has been the same for me w/ all the bios to date.

Good to see you here johnrr6! I think my ASUS P5B was the best overall board I ever had. That is why I purchased the P6T. Some people on another forum are going up to 4.2 GHz

Well chuck - that's life on the bleeding edge! Come summer time there should be some really solid boards out there with mature BIOSes. I get the feeling that most board makers aren't 100% up on the Core i7 yet - that's probably why the perfectionist's over at DFI haven't released their board yet.

Good luck!

With a small increase in vcore, 3.6 GHz no problem. People are doing 50% OC on air wo breaking a sweat. I have not attempted the higher OC. Just not interested at this time. The board seems solid to me. Very hard to crash it.
