Thanks Skully for looking up that word as saved me the trouble, LOL.
I am still amazed at the difference in changing my ram as I am sure I can either drop my voltages even more or go for higher clock speeds at my current voltages.
Yes I have hyperthreading enabled. I have only disabled speedstep and turbo mode in bios. I am running at 20X multiplier. If I upped that to 21, Would all 4 cores run at 21 or just core 0? I do have the DO stepping. I have read conflicting stories on this.
If you have all cores/4 enabled, then all 4 cores will run the 21 multi...
Also if you want to do higher oc's. You'll need to disable everything in bios/cpu configuration, but leave hardware prefetcher, adjacent cache line prefetch, execute disable bit, enabled.
A closed water cooling system with a triple fan radiator/push pull will cool quite well. I've used large reservoirs for years. When I went to a triple fan radiator/closed system. I found to my suprise, it cooled just as well.
Only time the reservoir cooled better was when I put ice in it.....

Yes, it was either Hexus or Legit. Two fans dropped the load temps 6C. The H50 performs suprisingly well in a two fan setup. Now I'm intrigued.

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

I am running at 1.25Vcore, 1.25V QPI, 1.6v Dram, 175 Blck Freq and 20X Multiplier. Hyperthreading enabled.
I attached my H50 water cooler. Here is the comparison.
With the Zalman 9900 cooler
15 minutes after bootup at idle Real Temp 41,37,38,37
after 5 passes of LinX peak temps 76,75,73,72
5 minutes after LinX at idle 42,39,39,38

Now with my new Corsair H50cooler push/pull fans and I have them as exhaust
15 minutes after bootup at idle Real Temp 39,36,37,36
after 5 passes of LinX peak temps (18m 36s) 74,73,73,71
5 minutes after LinX at idle 42,40,41,40

Not a whole lot of difference overall. I Used Tuniq TX-3 CPU paste and that is not suppose to require any curing, So I don't imagine my temps getting any better over time. I don't have my side case fans (2x 120mm fans) installed yet as I have not cut the 2 4.5" holes for them yet so that will help with temps too I would think.

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

I upped my Vcore to 1.2625v and upped my Dram to 1.64v. I increased my multiplier to 21 and my blck freq to 181 to give me a even 3.8ghz overclock. I ran 5 passes of LinX and then 8.5hrs of prime95 with no errors.
When I ran Linx, my temps are about the same as when I ran it at 3.5ghz. Over night (actually overday as I did not go to bed till 8am this morning my time) Prime95 ran 8.5hrs and my peak temps are 72,69,70,67. I am more than happy to have a clock of 3.8ghz and be stable and no higher temps than what I am getting as I don't believe any game will stress my system like this, atleast not any games I play.
After stopping Prime95 and 5 minutes later my temps at idle are 42,39,42,39.
I don't believe this H50 cooler can really bring temps down very fast after heating up due to limited water in the system but I am actually very happy with my system as it is now. I imagine I could prolly get a 4.0ghz overclock, but I am already higher now than I was hoping for.
I still plan on a real water cooling system. I have been looking over at DangerDen looking around as from what I have been reading, alot of people use their products.
Thanks again to Chuckbam, Sir Skully and to Tamco, if it wasn't for you 3, my system would not be where it is at today without your help and input.

{edit}
I was doing a little gaming and thought I would try LinX one more time as my temps seem to be improving. Just ran 5 more passes of Linx (18m 6s) at my 3.8ghz settings from above and my temps now read 73,71,71,69. That a measurable improvement. Maybe the TX-3 paste does require some curing as these temps are better now than when I was at 3.5ghz.

You're welcome, your temps and Vcore and other settings look really good.
If ya leave it the way you have it, you'll have one stable power house PC.
The idle temps aren't that important, its the load temps, and yours are great..

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

After turning my computer off over night and adding the 2 additional 120mm filtered intake side case fans (1 blowing right onto my video cards and 1 blowing right onto my ram and northbrridge). I decided to change my multiplier back to 20 and bump my block freq up to 190 to give me the same clock speed as before. I changed none of my voltages. After 15 minutes after bootup at idle, my temps are 38,36,36,34. After 5 passes of LinX (17m 16s), my peak temps are 71,69,69,67. After 15 minutes of idle after LinX my temps are 42,39,41,39. Also for the first time the GFlops are over 50 on each pass except for the first pass which came in at 49.896. I have no idea what this means but I imagine a higher GFlop is better and before when running this test, they was all always in the mid 49 range. My temps have definitely improved again also. I just wanted to update my latest changes as I will probably leave them here and maybe use this computer for something other than stress testing now, LOL.

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

Your on the right track, watch changing multipliers. I've read where 19 and 21 works better on Asus when oc'ing. I've always done better with 21, but who knows.. Just something to think about if 20 seems to be problematic.

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

Are folks here using the original version of the P6T or V2? Any big differences between the two?

TIA!

Re: ASUS P6T Deluxe (x58/ ICH10R)

I'm using the P6T Deluxe Original version----not V2

Love the board---ver solid with Excellent BIOS support.

I think the two are virtually the same boards except the V2 does not have the SAS SATA capability (which virtually no one uses to my knowledge)....

From everything I have read, that is the only difference although I am using V2.
