| Hey, i was wondering if anyone had any advice in changing the mother board to my computer. I am changing it because it only has a PCI slot. I have found a motherboard that will except all of my other parts requirments, but i know that new cards always seem to give a little bit of trouble. hehe. Will i have to download my drivers again? I know i will have to download Windows again. And also if someone is willing to give the time to help me find a maybe even better motherboard then what ive found. Every comment is appreciated. | And, what case and power supply do you have? Is your case ATX form factor compatible or is it a proprietary layout such as Dell, HP, Gateway, etc may use? Mike.

| I have never used Abit products and I'm unsure of their stability. My personal preference is Asus. |

| Using an HP case the thing you need to make sure of is that the new MOBO will fit into the case. In many systems by HP, Compaq, Dell, Gateway, etc, the case is a non standard size and shape. The layout of the internal mounting points and positioning for the I/O panel may not readily accept the new MOBO. Also, you stated your HP has only 1 PCI slot. Is it a small case? Do you plan to reuse the HP parts in the new ABIT? If so, are you sure the parts will work in the new MOBO? There is a lot to consider before gutting the current system. Mike .

| It may be simpler to get a whole new case entirely, so that your enclosure won't limit your upgrade. |
