computer loosing time

hello guy's been away for a while. whats new? my sysytem is loosing time almost on the daily bases. it will not hold the correct time. any idea what that might be.

Try replacing the CMOS battery on the mother board.

Its almost definately the battery. Take a look at your motherboard and you should see a little disc shaped battery somewhere. Take it to radio shack (or another alternative, radio shack is the first that comes to mind )and replace it with one of the same type. Your good to go.

Ditto. Most motherboards take a CR2032 battery, which you can buy in any Stop & Shop, drug store, or Radio Shack.

well it held time for a little while. I thought that was it the battery. its back doing the same thing again. today I notice it was off so I reset it. earlier today and so far it hasn't lost time yet.
