Intel E8500 Wolfdale CPU Fan Removal

Is it safe/easy to remove the stock fan? I know the chip is clamped down behind it's seal, but I'm still concerned about how tight the fan may be clinging to the chip. My motherboard is a GA EP45-UD3P.

Re: Intel E8500 Wolfdale CPU Fan Removal

Ok thanks. After doing a cpu stress test (Burn-In 2008) the cpu tops at 49C after 15 minutes. So, I guess Ill just stick with it for now. I went to Fry's to look at some coolers for the p45 and they're massive. I guess they're for extreme overclocking.

Check out Newegg.com - Computer Parts, PC Components, Laptop Computers, Digital Cameras and more!, or HeatsinkFactory.com - CPU Coolers, Case Fans, Quiet Cooling, and Water Cooling or Sidewinder Computers - Supplier of High Quality PC Modding and Cooling parts. You can find some smaller coolers with better performance than the Intel stock cooler. The Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro is a decent cooler for moderate overclocking of dual core CPUs.
