Smile laptop

hi

i am not sure if this is the correct place to put this question,

i have just purchased a ACER Travelmate 533xc laptop
it has 2.ghz cpu installed
but it is only showing 1.2ghz on CPUZ
and only 1.2ghz on System Properties,

i thought perhaps Bios Problem,it is on v1.4

can any one advise please to get the full 2.ghz

any help would be appreciated,

Hi borris12, welcome to the site!
Sounds like Intel's speedstep technology. Try benching the system with something intensive running (like a game) and check the CPU speed then; it should ramp up to normal.

thanks for your reply,

i do not use games at all so can`t really test like you said,

by what you say everything looks ok,

is there any other way i could test the CPU,
