99% Isopropyl Alcohol ... where to buy? Where do you buy this stuff? If I remember correctly, I have only seen 70% at drugstores (CVS, Walgreens) ... though maybe I just wasn't looking hard enough.

All drug stores have it - if it is not out, just ask the pharmicist for it. They may have it behind the counter, need to order it, or can sell you a small bottle from their larger supply. I just bought a 16 oz. bottle at my local pharmacy for about $1.50. BTW, it is not a prescription item.

Thanks! Last time I bought rubbing alcohol it wasn't for computer purposes, and that was a while ago (it seems to last forever if you just use it for cuts and such). I wasn't looking for the 99% stuff, and that's probably why I didn't see it

I checked CVS and they didn't have 99% ... asked the guys at the pharmacy and he said he's never seen it there. I'm guessing this would mean most other 'popular' drug stores won't have it either. I wonder where I can get this stuff? :confuse2:

FWIW, I could not find 99% isopropanol at any of my local stores either. I asked at the pharmacy (and my wife did at other stores) and they looked at me like I had two heads. (I don't, by the way.

We had a large bottle at work for cleaning signs but nobody knows where it came from. Last purchase came in as 50%.. even worse than the drug store variety. Should have snagged some while I had the chance dd

I use and recommend Techspray Isopropyl Alcohol. It is 99.8+% pure, anhydrous isopropanol. The full product line is available at techspray . You can purchase from contacteast . Note that there is a hazardous shipping surcharge for most orders. (It seems that I am unable to post a link, but if you Google the underlined words you will quickly find the intended site.)

| Why not try the stuff Artic Silver offers, though it is a bit expensive? I have it and it works great! Two stages: first removes the big stuff and second makes the surface almost shine. Now my fingers remain clean. The bottles should last beyond my death. Bad factor is a strong odor. b ![]()

| Safeway has it here. The 99% ones. It's in the pharmacy section of the store on the shelves.

Re: 99% Isopropyl Alcohol ... where to buy? I have it in 950ml (a quart sized carboy full). No haz Mat shipping on this quantity, regular Fed Ex is 6-10 $$ depending on the location. Email me for an exact quote with your address and zip code because the moderators will not let me post a URL because I am one of those dreaded Newbies. Find it at nebraskabiopro dot com. Just found the forum BTW. First post ![]() Norman
